The new Volkswagen T-Roc has arrived at last, ready to do battle in the increasingly competitive small SUV market. Prices start from around -19, 000, and with several petrol and diesel engines to choose from, VW is surely on to a winner with this new model. But is it better than rivals like the Audi Q2 or Mazda CX-3? To find out, we-ve taken it for a spin

Cost cutting measures from a cash strapped VW?
Perhaps we shouldn't have been cheating emissions tests.
VW are even bitter at Skoda because Skoda's labour costs are so low, which makes no sense when you consider VW owns Skoda.
I'm sure this latest blandmobile will sell like hotcakes.

the standard of Auto Express and WhatCar reviews is so low, such awful quality audio, bits of promotional press release videos edited in, and absolutely no in-depth detail whatsoever? I'm honestly not joking when i say that i could make a better quality video on my iPhone 7

Those cheap horrible plastics! - And to think for years VW have been banging on about their superior quality over their rivals. Reducing material quality and still trying to charge premium prices and con the consumer into thinking that a VW is a quality product, no thanks!

I Like the Car. I think it is a nice addition to the line. Though if I was to consider buying one, I cant decide whether the 1. 0 which is really affordable or whether to step it up to 1. 5 which pushed my budget. Is the 1. 5 SE really noticeable vs the 1. 0 SE?

I would rather them raise the price to get soft touch plastics in place, especially on top of the dash, this car has real potential, just get rid of that cheap tacky plastic which is best left to Vauxhall or Ford it doesn't belong in a VW!

Looks like a Skoda Fabia on steroids. If like all other VAG cars, it will probably languish well behind the leaders on reliability. As far as stimulating the emotions is concerned, one letter springs to mind - 'z', as in 'ZZZzzzzzz'.

Nice review. I really wish we were getting this in NA. I don't get why not! I love the new Tiguan but a well-spec'd model is a bit expensive and it's a touch larger than I need, so the T-Roc would fit me perfectly.

Whenever a reviewer dings a vehicles for the materials on the dash I think to myself how infrequently I touch my dash. Especially up top it's usually only to dust it a few times a year.

This fake exhaust pipe trend better come to an end soon. Looks so cheap and nasty and can often ruin the rear end of a vehicle - particularly more expensive ones.

I had the opportunity to be in one, and I think VW is charging a premium price for an average car. The Mazda CX3 looks better, has a better interior and it-s cheaper.
