I don't know what those other viewers are talking about. I have NEVER heard Eric be disrespectful of other shops. I have only heard him relay relevant information about the vehicles he is working on, so that we as viewers can understand the whole story. And if a vehicle has been worked on by another mechanic (and maybe even had a parts gun fired at it) prior to Eric, then that's just relevant information, and not slanderous in any way in my opinion. Eric always takes the high road it seems to me, he doesn't brag when he fixes problems that has stumped other shops and he even shows us his own mistakes. He does't overcharge or take wild guesses that cost the customer a lot of money (in fact he often goes the extra mile to try to keep costs down for his customers, as long as it doesn't effect safety or correct function in a negative way) and he always stands by his own work, what more could one ask of a repair shop?

I also wish it was something more. My 05 impala is a headache when it comes to flashers and headlights. previous owner thought it was a smart idea to wire the headlights hot to an on/off switch under the steering wheel. Tore all that out, rewired the passenger side headlight (where most of the damage was) and now i can only get the drivers side low beam to work. No highs or lows on passenger and no highs on the driver side. Passenger side front turn signal flashes constantly and fast with the key on or started. Does not flash in the rear, only the front. Operates normally when the multi-switch is pushed up or down but when in the middle the passenger side flashes continuously on the dash and the front. Its a mess. spliced, cut, taped and folded wires everywhere. Anyone have any suggestions for me on this year old video? lol

I hold an electronics certificate from a technical college. I really appreciate your approach to reading voltages, resistances, currents and waveforms. That simply has to be done for a good diagnosis. Parts throwers certainly show their ignorance, and I have seen a lot of them in my day. It seems to me that adequate electronics training must be a part of a mechanic's ticket. No pass the electronics section then no mechanic's ticket.

I am not one to put anyone down, I am sure you are the same, from what I see I beleave this to be true! However, when you get a vehical from another shop there is no reason for you to hold that information back. We should have the background of where the car came from. The better the history the better the chances a good fast diagnosis. There is nothing wrong with being honest!

Caught one from another shop yesterday and he was running down a no start/no run. It has been messed with by many mechanics and the problem was still there. Did some of the same tests you did and found, yep, a bad ground. Fixed that and the old vehicle fired right up. Good job. The ground is boss. Electronics do not like it when the boss not working.

Eric, don't complain that you had a quick fix! It WAS still interesting to watch. Did the other shop charge for changing blinker fluid? Bad turn signals are almost always old or low fluid. next to the ever present bad ground. I see Mrs O is working Banker's hours. It was good to see her and Trinity! Happy holidays to you and yours.

Thanks for a great video. My 2004 Impala has exactly the same issue, plus I have a dash cluster with a temp gauge and a speedometer that has a mind of it's own. I sent the cluster out for repairs and I fixed the short thanks to you! If has been a good car up until lately. Lots of little fixes.

This short video saved me hours of grief. I didn't have a problem until I turned on fog lamps and the lights went goofy. The wires going to the ground all looked okay, but when I touched them they turned to dust. Just stripped the ends back and stuck them under the washer. All lights work great now.

I have an 05 Impala none of the blinkers hazzards or arrow indicators in the dash work but the parking lights do any suggestions I checked the fuse the bulbs there good so I've been trying to find videos to help and I saw this video any advice or suggestions on what it could be
