This is a modified 53' Lincoln Capri intially customised by the legendary George Barris who created the Batmobil from TV Show. carfreakjim: This video could have been so much more interesting. The original owner of the car, Jim Street, toured al over the USA with this car. But after sometime, he got bored with it and put it in his garage next to his other famous hotrod called kookie t, now known as the car that started the t-bucket hotrod scene. It wasn't until he passed away recently the car came out of hiding. Before that it was not seen in over 50 years. The car could als be controlled by sound. There is an receiver right behind the rear glass. Also this was the most expensive car when it was newly build and really technology advanced. If you want to know more I suggest to go to customcarchronicle. com and look for the articles of this car on there.

The Lincoln from which the car was built was owned byu Barris. He drove the car under a truck and totaled it, then sold it to 'Jim Street' who funded the original customization in the fifties. The car sat for many years before it was sold at auction and restored a few years ago.

I remember that car from when I was a kid. It was called the Golden Sahara. just like the sign behind the car said if super blond could get out of the way.

call me an asshole if you want but the golden sahara is a piece of kustom kulture history which you know nothing about so don't talk about it

The owner of that car was having a ball with ole'-mommy-dearest-today, who had her condescension and insufferability generators running at 10 x 1000 RPM.

So was he a Designer with an engineering degree? Or a Engineer who dabbled in design? (George Barris ) Regardless that is a mindblowingly awesome car.
