Change your car with Carwow: If you’re in the market for a high-performance coupe, it doesn’t get much better than this line-up! Mat’s got his hands on the New Porsche 911 GTS, AMG GT 63, Aston Martin Vantage and BMW M8 Competition, and he’s going to compare the four of them over a series of tests to see which is the must-have sports coupe for 2025. So, for starters, let’s take a closer look at the stats. The new 911 GTS is a hybrid, and it comes equipped with a 3. 6-litre turbocharged flat-six, as well as an electric motor. Combined it creates 541hp and 610Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto, and as new it will set you back around 144, 000. Next up we have the AMG GT. It’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this creates 585hp and 800Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed multi-clutch, and a new one of these costs 185, 000. Up next is the Vantage. It’s powered by an AMG 4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this pumps out 665hp and 800Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels only via an 8-speed auto, and it’s the most expensive car here, at 216, 000. Finally we have the BMW M8. There’s a 4. 4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet, creating 625hp and 750Nm. It’s equipped with four-wheel drive, an 8-speed auto gearbox, and it costs 157, 000. But which one will come out on top You’ll need to keep watching to see for yourself! Mat, please be gentle to that well-aged BMW. It's the last BMW of its kind: Good design, almost perfect iDrive system with real buttons, nice materials, decent performance without any electrification and overall good design (I just have to mention it once more.
But the M8 is not a sports car like all three other competitors want to be: It's a Gran Turismo. You don't celebrate the speed - you celebrate that you don't get a clue of it while you're speeding on the Autobahn.

The M8 is the best. very sad it's being stopped. Love Matt, but you wrong. On everything you say about the M8. I agree with most of your stuff for ten years. But the M8 is a gem. That Aston is a Merc, with a dire complicated ugly probably faulty dash. The 911 gear stick is a memory stick. How did they think would look good I will miss the M8. But not any of the others, when they stop. But probably not the 911 which you did own. recently So no biased views

for the price that aston wants, it should be a mid 2 second car, not 3. 55. although here in the USA it sounds so much better and breathes freer and hits 60 in 2. 7 seconds, that's what some owners have gotten. British cars are a good bit slower and more quiet than the US versions.

You should do the videos like this more. Because istead of dragging, you just run them yourself and really get the best time of the car, and that is what is fastest. Versus getting people who can't drive for crap doing bad launches and making the cars look slower.

The interiors are crazy busy with way too many buttons/dials. The Porsche has too much high-tech technology. There's a lot to go wrong and the maintenance has to be horrendous for these cars. Thank you but I'll keep my EV after dumping my MB AMG, Audi RS5/S6.

So much hate for the m8. It looks the best there, despite me being a porsche fan, the m8 looks the best there. The interior is much better than benz. I would rather have a simpler interior yet beautiful than a interior full of cheap plastics (benz)

It's such a shame there isn't any real manuals anymore. Speed isn't everything
Matt you guys should host a drag racing competition at that air strip. It would be massive. So the public can bring their cars and race the quarter mile.

I love the Porsche just not those front grills, they just to my mind not flow with the looks of the car. And that Aston, wow as always a looker. BMW and Mercedes, just why, I own both older ones. great thought provoking clip.

For me the merc has the worst infotainment system mainly bcs of that HUGE bezel, like c'mon we're in 2025 and they can't even trim down a bezel If we're still in 2014-2016 i'm okay with it bcs phone, tablets etc has massive bezel too

I would genuinely struggle to choose which one I'd have. They all look stunning, perform brilliantly and have their unique points.
If I had to drop one, it would be the Merc because of the interior. It looks so good though.

The Aston is by far the best looking car, both inside and out. No idea why people like the 911 so much: it looks boring, sounds awful and is full of cheap plastic, especially the front splitter and rear diffuser.
reply

I disagree. The Porsche seems like the Lexus of the bunch meaning it does EVERYTHING well. I feel like you should be a hooligan in one of these cars and the Aston seems to have hooliganism in spades.
reply

That 911 is a real leap forward for porsche, can’t wait for the hybrid tech to trickle down to the base bare bones car the plain carrera, because that’s all you need, in guards red with a sunroof
reply

The M8 actually has the best sounding exhaust here but idk what's up with your guys' BMWs in europe with soft limiters. We dont have these in the states the M8 COMP burbles and gurgles hard
reply

The Aston Martin steals my heart and is my #1 choice but the 911 is simply the greatest sports car of all time! Will ALWAYS be valedictorian of the segment. Porsche just gets it RIGHT!
reply

Would you please stop putting adults in the backseats! Good grief, those seats are for kids. Get a 11 & 5 year old so we have a realistic practicality sense of the rear seat room.
reply

I watched the video till he reached the interior ranking, thr Porsche is by the far the ugliest and most cheap feeling on the interior, it's the one with the most plastic
reply

Porsche. All day. Every day. I have a turbo S and this is close! I love Astons but and as for the Merc and BMW: god no. Peak BMW and Merc was years and years ago.
reply

The Aston is great, but that amg is the first amg gt that i think looks complete. Previous versions just looked meh, soft, not it. This one is just so damn hot.
reply

I agree 100% about the front end of the Porsche. Great car, but the front is less attractive than the base version. Overall, though, the one I'd take home.
