I squeezed a family of five, into a gtc for a 4 week tour out Europe last summer. It was tight. Much tighter than the old laguna estate I had.
Pro tip, remove load cover, and get a cheap dog guard. Then you can fill to the roof.
With regards to vacuum packed stuff or blankets/quilts etc, your advice is wrong. Out then in first on the floor, then the with of the cases etc, will compress them, meaning they take next to zero space.

useless tips seriously. and a few things said in this video don't have to do with packing your bags.
Don't use glove box. They can easily break.
Use the empty space under the seats.
If you don't have rear passengers you can fold rear seats and make a lot more place plus you can use the floor of where rear passengers would have their legs.

only the driver needs a high viz jacket in France not all the passengers. It has to be within reach of the driver and put on before exiting the vehicle - Being a UK RHD car though it might be advisable to have one for the front passenger. Also breathalysers are no longer compulsory. I live in France.

but we somehow got all the stuff in with the tetris method
(but i dont know about the vacuum tip, you may go there with vacuumed clothes but how are you going to go vacuum them for the way back )
