On the lookout for your next car? Head to to find the right car from the right dealer, at the right price. . It's time for a FWD hot hatch drag race! Mat's lining up in the classic Honda Civic Type R, alongside the new MINI GP, the Hyundai i30 N, and a Mountune-tuned Ford Focus ST! So how about the specs? Well, all four cars are packing a 2-litre turbocharged petrol under their bonnets, and while the Focus ST can produce the most power at 330hp, it's the i30 N that can produce the most torque with a total of 550Nm! As for the MINI, well it'll only produce 306hp - the lowest of any competitor here today. But it does have one advantage. it's the only automatic! So will the automatic gearbox, coupled with its lightweight, see it leave the field for dead? There's only one way to find out. LET'S RACE!

Kind of unfair I don't really care about the price that it cost them to put on the modifications to the cars and that balances their price no I mean yeah the price is important but you kind of can look that up anyway and see the stock price of the car brand new and the figures but what you want to see is real world results of sound and feel and performance and lap times and all of that and having any modification like that on any of the cards is a very unfair advantage unless they all have the same modifications in the same brand of modifications exactly then it would be a fair comparison but since they don't it's not a fair comparison at all

If you like straight-line performance, the mini is definitely the best. It is also among the fastest fwd hot hatch, tied with the Meganne RS depending on data, but the Civic Type R however, is a lot better on the corners, it is said to feel more 'fun' on track, while also putting out faster lap times. They are honestly both brilliant cars tho. The B48 also has good tuning potential!

Man. I'm still gonna get the Honda Type R even though they slow as f. Until they raise the speed limits by 10 more. That means neighborhoods are minimum 35 mph. Regular small town roads are 55 mph Highways are 80 mph. THEN, I would give up on the Type R, which I truly love, and replace it with any other brand which will always be faster than the Type R.

You're British right don't the British and other countries in the area of have the most manual transmissions by far like pretty much all of them over there are manual transmissions standard over here in America it's the opposite which I wish it was reversed to be honest with you I prefer manuals they're more fun and a lot of other benefits to them

Always enjoy the videos, Matt. Are we supposed to like loud cars that sound like a high school auto shop kid can't get the timing right? The Civic, though the least attractive, certainly sounds the best. The others sound like like miss-tuned unmuffled fart cans.

well as a 10th gen honda boi, 1st to 2nd gear change miss/grind is common. some say its the torque, some say its the gearbox but thats very common wont blame matt for that but will blame him on not putting it on R mode

That Mini took me by surprise. I knew my favourite(i30N) was not going to win, but I certainly did not expect it to be last. I am gutted. Bearing in mind I raced a motorbike up the motorway and I kept up with it(was a 650.

That's some quality motor journalism right there. The focus has a 2. 3L, not a 2. 0L.
I'm pretty sure hundreds of people pointed that out, but you couldn't even be bothered to pin a comment to correct yourselves. -

Tip for better and cheap sound, just let it spark later so the flame comes out the cylinder, hold it in limiter for a few secs and see the parts of your cat fly out of your muffler-

i'm so dissapointed in this video, comparing an automatic car against manual cars is not really fair, the mini will always have acceleration advantages everybody knows that
