Toyota GR Supra 2. 0-litre review: better than the 3. 0-litre?

This is the all-new 2. 0-litre Toyota Supra! No, that-s not a typo. There-s a new 2-litre 4 cylinder Supra in town! So we just have one question: Why! Toyota-s official line is that it offers a cheaper entry point for people wanting to get their hands on a Supra, which it does. So those of you looking to get a brand new Supra for less than -50, 000 will now be able to. However, rather than being graced with the 340hp & 500Nm the 3-litre offers you, you-ll have to make do with 258hp and 400Nm. However, there-s one big factor you need to consider - it-s only -6, 000 less than the 3-litre! So with that in mind, is it really worth it? Or should you just save up a little bit more and go for the 3-litre? Mat-s here to find out!

For everybody hating on the 4-cylinder Supra I would just like to point out that the fastest super in the 90s were the four cylinder ones. Have you people lived under a rock? Have you guys not played Gran Turismo? Long story short if you were at the racetrack in the 90s and when he races you are running the 4 cylinder super not the six cylinder. The 3s was just far superior to the 2J.

What a completely pointless and expensive car! Why have Toyota decided to ruin the Supra name like this? Back in the 90's a Supra was considered right up there with the best of them, BMW M cars, Ford Cosworths, Nissan Skylines, EVOs etc. Fast forward to 2021 and this -Supra- is less powerful than most hot hatches. I can only hope that Toyota sell very few and learn from their mistake.

I would say it's great but bruh in the UK 6k difference that is sad in my country the 3. 0 is 550k and and the 2. 0 300k a lot of difference in my country for and its only 220 k second hand 2019 which is basically new for 220k in my country u can a get a brand new 2 series - or this epic lokin car so it's epic nice car and enough performance but fact it's called a supra that is sad

Savage Matt on the annoying things for the supra. But did you know that the Super GT (formerly known as JGTC) supra use 4 cylinder engine 3sgte rather than 2jz. It is due to the equal weight distribution. I think toyota engineers want to recreate that with this a90 supra version. So it is not that peculiar or annoying thing to see supra with 4 cylinder.

Since the BMW Z4 s30i has manual transmission Toyota should have them too in the 4 cylinder supra.
But I read that 4 cylinder b48 bmw s30i has the same firewall with the 6 cylinder b58 bmw z4 m40i/toyota gr supra 6cyl. It means that manual supra is possible

Am I the only who thinks that the problem with the new supra is that it's too small, the old one had a larger coupe body. And that I think BMW was the wrong brand to collaborate with, I think a more interesting brand would be better for it like jaguar or Kia

The money they used to try and get cheap people to buy the 4 cylinder (it-s not even that much less expensive if we are being completely honest) they could have created a manual option for the -actual- 6 cylinder Supra consumer/enthusiast. -

IN POLAND price difference is: 39000pounds for 2. 0 liters. to 57000 for 3. 0 litres so is 18000 more, in My opinion 3. 0 not worthy to pay 18kmore, there is only 0. 9s on acceleration, and same max speed on 250km/h

Great review. That 0-60 and 1/4 Mile times are absolutely impressive for the entry level car!
Also a tune and down pipe will give the car a lot more power easily like most 2. 0L turbos, especially bmw ones.

Hark! The term -Proper-. British term that has caught on with the automotive community. Perpetuated by one Matt Watson. The term fits the Supra 4 cylinder as a sportscar for the people.
