my team and I will help you choose your ideal car at a fair price - from Mat Watson! . This is the new Skoda Enyaq! It-s fair to say that in 2021 electric SUVs are a bit like small, crossover SUVs have been for the past few years- They-re everywhere! Almost every major manufacturer has an EV SUV available to buy, so does the Enyaq offer enough to stand out from the crowd? Well when it comes to performance, there are two options to choose from - the entry level -60-, or the -80-. They both come with RWD, and the 60 provides 180hp from a single electric motor along with a claimed range of 256 miles from a 62kWh battery pack. As for the 80, it-s also powered by a single electric motor, although this one offers 204hp, while the larger 82kWh battery pack will apparently provide you with 333 miles of range! As for the interior, it-s certainly more than impressive, and your focus will be immediately drawn to the 13-inch infotainment screen which comes with all models. You'll also find smart digital driving display dials, and good quality materials throughout the majority of the cabin. But is it enough?

Bought an Enyaq in August 2021 and now regret the choice. There are some problems with t his car which can best be described as manufacturer's defects. Charging over the settable limit and that is contrary to the manufacturer's advice because they advocate 80%.
The Wireless charging bays don't charge mobile phones as they should. The percentage charge doesn't increase and I get warning messages about clutter in the charging bay when its only occupied by one phone.
The USB-C ports do not provide sufficient power for the sort of devices that are in common use. These include a Garmin Dashcam and a phone caddy with a wireless charging facility.
Somehow Skoda has failed to incorporate standard functionality based on accepted specifications for both wireless charging and USB ports and they've added to the pain of the lack of these facilities by having a diagnostic testing facility that is also faulty. If the proprietary Skoda diagnostic test passes the car then you cannot get it repaired under warranty. Its something of a disaster.
So, if you use your phone and other USB devices in your car don't buy an Enyaq - they all have the faults I have described.

I find funny people say that when Enyaq gets expensive and say -It's a Skoda not a Audi-. Let's get that out of the way, Skoda and Audi are owned by WV, so basically the Enyaq, ID4 and e-tron has the same base, exactly the same car on its core. In the end is just a matter of preference. I considered an Audi e-tron because the price was good, but soon as you start adding extra features to match up the same features as the Enyaq and ID4, it gets really expensive. In the end you are paying only for the brand, so unless you are an Audi fan, it's not worth the money. I did a test drive in all 3 cars, and I needed these features: big car (so I can take my family and dogs, a good battery, good design, feel comfortable during long driving, and for me most importantly, I didn't want the car to look too much like an EV. The Enyaq and the ID4 ticked all the boxes for me but I ended up going with the Enyaq just because the design.

You have weird taste Matt, I think the car looks amazing on the outside, fake vents included: -) Although if you want to feel like you have a more unique car then this design is not. Also you like the inside where they have just bolted a monitor to the instrument panel? Looks cheap and ugly to me, I like cars that integrate the monitors, gives a higher quality feel. Don't understand how even Tesla just bolts screens on, although they make it look better than this one.

The Skoda Enyaq iV is not a bad car but the price. They are giving us a pretty attractive 31 thousand pounds starting price but if you want some pretty basic options you'll have to pay around 10 thousand extra. And then we come to around 40-45 thousand pounds which is the price of a Tesla Model 3 Long range which in my opinion is a lot better. It is more powerful, faster, it has a bigger battery, it charges faster. I'm sorry Skoda but.

Don't understand why all these companies except for Tesla make the car configurators on their site so terrible. It is so unclear what is going on, website littered with popups also. Tesla makes it simple, modern, cool, just a few options. Every other manufacturer has a website that looks like they are from 2010 and a very complicated process to compare performance and see what is going on.

If that had an Audi badge on it Matt would be creaming in his pants and everything would be -very clever- and -intuitive---listen to his voice, no interest in the product what so ever, doesn-t even want to be there by the look of his face. Most biased -unbiased- product demonstrator ever!
Carwow, get the guy from Autotrader please, Matt is shit, thanks -

It seems to me that VAG is trying to push the Skoda brand upmarket, and unfortunately for us that is pushing up the prices of Skoda cars. In their view, why not? The cars are big, solid and reliable. They are built using parts shared with semi-premium VW cars. VAG have other brands such as Seat that they can use as -low-end- brands, selling smaller cars.

It's unbelievable how world's biggest car manufacturer is not able to hire proper coders. In my Tiguan 2019 the sales guy tried to connect and activate VW software for 10 times and I tried 10 more afterwards - no go. And still they have these same problems. Why not just fire the whole dang department and hire the ones who knows how to code? Jeez!

Been waiting for a reasonably priced compact SUV. Looks so much better than the so much rounded id4. Having 250 km of range is quite ok and usable. My single moderate concern is the back traction that is not so good in mud or snow. Other thing is I like fatter tires as they are better for comfort.

At least the space in the boot is a practical space. Sick of seeing sleek-backed SUV cars which massively reduces the space in the boot for big objects. But can we PLEASE have physical buttons for things like climate control, it's so unsafe having to take your eyes off the road to use a touch screen.
