Lamborghini is set to release a number of new cars over the next few years! However, these won-t all be standard V12-powered Lambos- Some will be hybrids, while at least one is likely to be fully electric! That-s right, Lamborghini-s confirmed it-s taking the plunge into the EV market! The question is, what sort of performance will these cars deliver? And more importantly, what will it look like! Well, we-ve created this video to answer those questions! From potential successors to the Urus to 4-door Taycan competitors, stick with Mat to find out just what Lamborghini has planned for the next few years. The question is, will you still love Lambos once they make the move to electric?

Traditional supercars like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsches will die in the future. Supercars are so loved because of the thrill which they instill in drivers. Most of our love for supercars are because of the sound they make. Listening to those amazing V10s and V12s makes the hair on our arms stand up. Without exhaust notes there's no emotion. Eventually we'll reach a point where each automaker has an EV which accelerates to 60mph in less than 3 seconds. What will the point of supercars be then? Im a firm believer that we need to maintain that emotion and history. Supercar brands should always be allowed to make large engines with insane exhaust notes because there are so few of these cars on the road. A few Toyota hundred Corollas probably does more damage to the environment than most of the supercars in existence, for the simple reason that supercars aren't that plentiful and their owners barely drive them.

They're stuck in a design rut with all those sharp creases and aggressive angles, become their German overlords have a very simplistic understanding of the brand and how it should managed (case in point: the Countach didn't have a name associated with bull-fighting. Their obsessive over-use of hexagons and y-shapes reminds me of current Hollywood with its endless re-makes and re-boots, and doesn't bode well for the Aventador replacement. God I miss Bertone! A four-seater EV should be nowhere near as fussy/ugly as the Estoque and Urus, it should be sleek, clean and otherwordly in its proportions, taking cues from the Espada. The Asterion was a slightly conservative step in the right direction, if not perhaps a little too curvy, like the Miura pastiche concept car, and a bit bulky.

The only way someone would buy a Lamborghini that is electric is if it had like an electric V12. An engine that was electric but had real pistons and like a fan motor that pushed are through the inside of the engine where the Pistons are and had headers to carry the wind from the fan outside of the motor and have some way to use that wind and pistons to create that realistic V12 sound while still gaining power as an electric motor. And it would have to have a real transmission like an 8-speed dual-clutch or something like that not A 1 speed transmission like Tesla. But an actual real transformation butt. If they had a way to make an actual real V10 or V12 electric motor that sounded like a real engine it might sell and definitely if it was solar

It's going to come down to the physical feedback from the car and road surfaces. Having the seats integrated into the carbon tub will be key to that road-to-ass- feeling. And manufacturers need to consider getting away from electric steering if the combustion engine goes away. Programming different kinds of throttle response will be important too. Electric cars are indeed where performance is going - you can see that in Bugatti's move with the Rimac deal. There will have to be a lot of new engineering decisions made to help enhance the driving experience that haven't been considered as important with the combustion engine.

AGAIN! Proof and confirmation that hybrid and electric cars are for rich people. This way, wealthy and upper middle class liberals can stare down at us unwashed masses from their ivory towers and -tsk tsk- while waving their fingers at us for not buying carbon neutral cars like them.
It's going to get to a point where average people wont be able to afford to buy cars anymore.
Take your electric cars and stick them up your pompous a-holes.

. and all of this is completely pointless when the Tesla Model S Plaid is already out, can do 0-60 in 1. 99 seconds, gets 405+ miles of range, looks cool as hell, has the most advanced technology of any production car, including full auto pilot, all while costing a fraction of the price. So yeah, Lambo are wayyyy behind and won't beat this. Their best option is just to design a cool looking shell/interior and stick it on top of a Tesla barebones.

Why do supercar brands need to worry about emissions? Yes they generate far more per car but there's also way less of them so on net impact it's a bit silly. I'm happy with VW Polos and Ford Fiestas going electric/hybrid because they are very high volume cars and the impact matters but a Lamborghini without a naturally aspirated V12 is an Audi drawn with a ruler - it loses what makes it interesting.

I don't think Lamborghini should do a hybrid. I do think they need the new hurrican to be all electric. And I would love to see them make a remac competitor for about a $1million and something in between for like $700k. Maybe their solution would be to make a car that has dual electric motors then one that has three electric motors then one that has four and they will have cornered the market

My question is how will super cars differentiate themselves with EV-s? Sure you have design, but theses cars are more about engine and sound. Take that away and you basically have a pretty Tesla. Also, I don-t think there will be a need for hyper cars if you will have grocery getters doing 2 seconds to 60. The future will be very interesting for sure!

What I need to know about an electric lambo is nothing Matt. There is no soul in an electric car, it may be ludicrously fast, but it is still heavy and based on milk float technology. N/A engines are the most exciting to drive and to listen to, until that's replicated, many car enthusiasts just can't appreciate EV's
