Mercedes EQB 2022 review - why ICE cars are DEAD!

Introducing the new Mercedes EQB! If you think the EQB looks pretty familiar. Well, you'd be right! This all-new electric car is based on the petrol-powered Mercedes GLB. The question is, with so few 7-seater electric cars available at the moment, does the EQB offer enough to turn you away from the Tesla Model X or Y? Well, for starters, let's check out the stats. There are two versions of the EQB available, and both come with two electric motors. We've got our hands on the range-topping EQB 350, which can deliver 292hp. Both editions come with a 66kWh battery pack, and they're good for a claimed range of 257-miles. Once you take a look inside, the interior is pretty familiar to all recent Mercedes releases. But that's no bad thing! It means you'll find two large infotainment screens throughout, along with high-quality materials throughout the cabin. But is it worth the -52, 000 starting price? And does it really offer enough to turn you away from choosing a Tesla instead? You'll have to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

ICE cars aren't dead yet, because
- EV cars are currently only rich boys' toys (for example the EQB)
- their range goes down significantly on cold weather, especially if the model lacks a heat pump
- they take ages to charge and solving this with the current technology will require major changes in our electrical infrastructures (grid capacity and power distribution)
So, until these 3 are solved I'm nowhere near becoming a fan.
(I'm not an EV hater, but having -done the math- and having been very tempted to jump in, these are the major shortcomings I came across)

Why should I buy this car in place of a Tesla? Tesla is by far superior in every single aspect and it has its own charge network. I just can't take this in consideration, maybe someone is going to choose this because it's better refined or prefer the overall esthetic, but you are choosing an older, non native EV tech. Nope, sorry.

I feel you should spend more time talking about the apps these cars come with, as their performance is varied, and nowadays it's quite an important aspect of using a car in my opinion. Btw nobody seems to have mentioned that them wheels look like they're always covered in brake dust, couldn't live with that!

According to Volvo you need to drive any electric vehicle for up to 90 thousand miles before you mitigate the extra Co2 released into the environment, due to the far higher levels on energy used in the manufacturing of electric vehicles, Not me but Volvos report

It's heated so that the sensors like the radar behind always got visibility obviously.
Mat is a walking meme with his BMW flask, Lexus hat, Audi bag and Mercedes vehicle.
8: 02 - -Even with the vegan interior the steering wheel is still leather-

you can buy a second hand car, that does 800 miles on a tank of diesel, have all the comfort you need for 1/10 of a price.
we should all ask the question, what is the job of a car. too free us or limit us? EVs still have the problem of restricting us.

I know it's not fair to compare this to the much more expensive EQS, but for the money this car is kind of disappointing.
Also at 10: 20 it recommends a 1h15m charging stop. There must be a faster charger available along the route.

This car is the least aesthetically pleasing car I have ever seen. Genuinely shit. What on earth has happened at the design departments at Merc and BMW of late? I used to respect German brands but now they're just churning out shite!

This is Embarrassing. Mercedes-Benz is really got caught with the pants down. No way they make any money on this SUV. It is a sad compromise. The Ford mark E Never mind the Tesla Y appear 15 to 20 years more Advaced.
