Well, it's official now. When AMG isn't making snarling V8's anymore, we're going full electric. Kinda sad for that era to be done, but it had to happen eventually. What I find baffling is that there is no visible difference to the looks of the car and its labeled an AMG. It's one of the signatures of an AMG. It looks more aggressive than the normal version of the car, and it is more powerful. I hope they rectify that issue in the future and make their electric lineup look as badass as the older AMG variants with the monstrous V8's, if nothing else at least as a homage to the past.

The problems with electric cars are that yes you can quick charge them but if you do then the battery life degrades and batteries cost a LOT of money to replace and have fitted. Most batteries cost thousands of pounds to replace for a reasonably cheap electric car and tens of thousands of pounds for a car like this. Another thing is the batteries at best only last about ten to fifteen years whereas if you take care of a brand new petrol car, get it serviced every year they can last thirty years. In fact some very well preserved petrol cars are forty years old and still running.

That car is so ugly and why would they give an electric car a fake grill? With electric cars you have the opportunity to have no grills and make the design sleek, simple, and aesthetically pleasing. Tesla did a great job with this and they-re whole line up in general. These other cars are just not as nice. I don-t mind the bmw electric cars though but I-m a little biased because I like bmw.

Tesla are known for lying or over exaggerating their figures in terms of performance and range, the Germans are known for under-reporting them. Thats goes a long way to address the differences. Plus, Teslas overheat after 1-2 launches. No such issue in the German EV's. they are used to thrashing it on the Autobahn constantly.

Mercedes really missing the plot with those EQ. S-class and E-class look much better than EQE and EQS. The AMG versions are way faster than needed, but can't keep up with current AMG cars and other performance EVs. They are amazing cars, just leaning too much on touch screens to feel special. AMGs have a soul. Or used to.

-mattwatson love your vids dude. Give me you honest opinion on buying a petrol or diesel right now. The EV-s are so expensive especially if you want an suv that-s a BMW, Audi, Tesla or Mercedes. Is it complete madness to buy a non EV this year?

I love how many people are offended over these electric cars. Honestly you're not any more the bees knees because you like petrol V8s etc and nothing else.
You're meant to be car enthusiasts, not engine configuration enthusiasts right? :)

Something is missing in the video - matt didn't say enough the words AMG EQE and Tesla Model 3 performance. It's a real shame. We want to watch a video with the words AMG EQE and Tesla Model 3 and they hardly using these expressions.

And in order to justify -green credentials- your going to have to drive it for 126000 miles to off set the emissions of manufacturing.

Merc has to fire the design team they have. The most unispiring design of their uninspiring latest line. Horrible. Take a short look at Audi that managed to design by far the nicest electric vehicle. Go back and work.
