Audi R8 v RS e-tron GT: DRAG RACE

It s time to find out which Audi is the quickest over the quarter-mile - the Audi R8 V10 Performance, or the RS e-tron GT? Now on paper, the RS e-tron GT should easily snatch the win. Its two electric motors provide four-wheel drive and combine to produce 646hp and 830Nm of torque. As a result, it s the most powerful Audi you can buy in 2022! In comparison, the R8 comes with a 5. 2-litre naturally aspirated V10 that s good for 620hp and 580Nm of torque. So it s no slouch, but ultimately it provides less power than the e-tron GT! However, there s one key difference between these two cars. Whereas the R8 weighs in at 1, 595kg, the RS e-tron GT is a whole lot heavier, tipping the scales at 2, 345kg!

In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too. as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils. California and New York will do the same from 2027 on. So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer. They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws!

Id like to see several brake tests in a row. 1) measure shortest 2) estimate fade 3) get a feel for repeatability. Let's face it, the 1 foot you won by could easily be a difference in when each driver started braking. Actually should probably be a tie in less than a couple of feet. Either that or at least confirm with accelerometer.

As much as I like the sound of the V10, personally I would much prefer the e-tron GT (or any other High-Performance EV, Taycan, Model S Plaid, . I just like the instant acceleration without screaming of the engine. Just smooth, silent acceleration.

I seem to recall an 620hp R8 performing 10. 8 seconds / 1/4 mile. so that's just proves it's noticeably quicker than the electric thing. Obviously you guys HAVE to show the milkfloat is better than the real performance thing, right?

Let me tell you something:
EV's are NOTHING ELSE than TOYS you play and fool around with untill the batteries are flat. anc then you pul out the ACTUAL CAR.
The one with engine. NOT the Lego toy crap
R8 remains the BOSS

I have a doubt. All these Super electric cars are capable of doing sub 3 seconds to 100, but could they extend the Range to 1000 kilometres on the same car if the Manufacturer reduce the 0-100 time to Let's say around 5 Seconds.

Ah another video of electric car purposely put up to embarrass a legendary car. These are always predictable and annoying to watch. And for god sakes STOP using the RWD R8, it wasn t made for drag

Even with almost 700kg of extra weight, it beat the R8 and almost lined up with the brake test. Really impressive to think, imagine how much better electric cars will get in the future.

The R8 didn't won this drag race because the R8 is drag racing against a electric RS e-tron GT! We all know electric cars launch quickly than ICE cars! So the RS e-tron GT won!

It appears that the driver is the weak link!
Is there a chart comparing the quarter mile times? 11. 1 and 11. 2 seconds seems reasonable but not mega fast for 600+ horses.

The R8 every time. one of the last high performance aspirated engines, whilst electric vehicles (great tech though they are) seem to be morphing into each other.

That Audi R8 will never beat the Audi RS e-tron GT in a drag race unless it's brutally tuned! But still both the Audi R8 and the Audi RS e-tron GT are awesome!

Haven't watched it yet I'm about to and I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I'd still rather the r8

The e-tron stopped so good even though it was 600kg heavier
No, probably only 200kg, forgot to add the weight of Matt's enormous balls to the R8
