Best Penetrating Oil. Learn how to make your own homemade penetrating fluid that works better than WD40, Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster, Kroil, and most other penetrating fluids on the market. Not only does it work better, it is way cheaper to make and very easy to make. You just need Automatic Transmission Fluid and Acetone and mix them together in a 50/50 ratio. Fill-able oil container

Great video. Been doing this for years, works great. I repair office machinery (copiers, scanners, etc) Copier fusers (heaters) run 350 degrees while copying so the bearings often freeze to the shaft if the previous tech didn't place high temp grease on the shaft prior. Of couse we couldn't use this mixture, but we often use a 50/50 of regent isopropyl and light machine oil. I've used this mixture on some pretty rusted nuts in automotive also. Didn't work as well as the atf/acetone on brake rotor, but it does work well on smaller nuts and doesn't eat plastic. Overall, you can put it in a precision oiler and just dab it on where you need it. Even if you really don't need to use it, the job will go faster with less stress on the hardware during the disassemble/reassemble process. Use it constantly.

Hey Chris. I just used your Acetone/ATF fluid mix on my 15 year old Altima's control arm body mount bolts. Worked awesome. I let it sit for a weekend and it did the job. I'm in Toronto and we heavily salt and brine our winter roads. Had my torch standing by, but wasn't needed. Thanks for all the great videos. Saved my bacon many times. Stay safe.

ATF and acteone works fine but doesnt really store well, the acteone evaps off. Made for jobs in the next few days and used it works fine. You have to wonder about whether its worth it acquiring acetone (assuming you keep ATF anyway) and mixing and containers etc vs a product

I accidentally discovered how good ATF was when i snapped a few bolts changing the transmission fluid on my 91 vette. When I retapped the holes under the car I didn't have anything nearby except the transmission fluid and it worked great as a lubricant for tapping the holes.

Wd40 prevents rust ive not used the other kinds besides pb blaster I tried cleaning my gun with pb blaster and it caused surface rust all over it l. I never had that problem with wd40. So I would say wd40 is more for preventing stuck bolts.

Luckily, I found surplus drums of Kroil at work awhile back. Now, instead of using kroil in my dropper, I'll try your recipe. Thanks for sharing. I always laugh when someone gets wd40 for jobs its not designed to do.

Project Farm tested all these including the homemade. Showed kroil was the most expensive but worst performing. The homemade is best but only a little better than liquid wrench if I remember correctly

Brake fluid. Especially at the junk yard. Dip a screwdriver in the master cylinder. Drip fluid on stuck part. May have to repeat several times. I'm not say brake fluid is better. But, it may help.

I have found that the best ingredient is time. The longer you can wait the better. If I know far enough in advance, I will apply the fluid a day or two ahead of time. Time makes a big difference.

I use the souls of Tweakers and Opiate Zombies. they are Always lookin for the cracks. nooks n crannies and such. Seriously I have always just used ATF. Thanks for the heads up.
