Chris, this video you did to show people how to change out rear drum brake shoes was EXCELLENT.
However, 2 really important things to make sure people really do the most safe and proper job, while replacing drum brakes; IS TO LET THEM KNOW WHICH IS A PRIMARY AND WHICH IS A SECONDARY. YOU DID SHOW THE SHOES AS; A FRONT AND REAR BUT, THEY REALLY NEED TO KNOW THIS DIFFERENCE. ALSO, WHEN INSTALLING THE MAIN SPRINGS; THAT THEY SHOULD CLOSE THE SPRINGS MOST OF THE WAY, THAT WAY TO INSURE THEY DON'T COME LOOSE OR IN SOME CASES WHERE I'VE HAD PEOPLE BRING ME THEIR VEHICLES BECAUSE THEIR REAR BRAKE SPRINGS CAME DETACHED SOMEHOW.
THE PRIMARY SHOE WILL ALWAYS GO IN FRONT AND THE SECONDARY WILL GO IN THE REAR/BACK.
WHEN DOING REAR DRUM COMPLETE SHOE REPLACEMENT, IF THEY GET CONFUSED, THEY CAN ALWAYS LOOK AT THE OTHER SIDE. TAKING A PICTURE AS YOU DID WAS VERY GOOD AS WELL AS THE REST OF YOUR VIDEO. GREAT JOB!

You definitely are the best on the internet! The way you explain everything with a lot of essential details, the camera shoot, the editing all makes it very straightforward. Too many guys have a shaky camera, are not prepared, try to explain with their left-hand makes it really annoying to watch. Not you! chrisfix, I'm planning to work on my drum brakes on my 95 F250. I'm getting a 5th wheel soon and want to be safe with my family. Do you think it would be better to convert to disc brakes in the rear for towing? Also, would you consider doing a video on towing with a 5th wheel and how to make sure the truck/trailer combo is good to go? I am trying to learn more and I feel like there are so many questions that aren't easy to find answers on out there!

One side took me 4 hours my first time. Some tips. Insert the wheel brake cylinder rods before you put it in, or you will have to open the bleeder valve to insert the rods. Definitely get the claw pulley tool if doing this job on an older or rusty vehicle. Dont worry too much about the break shoes lining up early on as the springs will mostly pull them into place when installed correctly. Restarted a few times until I discovered this.

I bought some brake drums and brake shoes from amazon and summit racing. For some reason both websites said the parts would fit my car, but it doesnt look like it. My brake shoes only have contact with the drum in the center of the pad. Any one know what I can do to find something that fits?

Just did one side of my 1980 corolla before I ran out of sunlight. Those springs are no joke! Also flushed the old fluid out and my oh my it was so satisfying watching that black fluid turn light brown and then clear

just me or at 20: 58 is there a crack in the drum at the two thirty position? also whats with the giant balancing weight never seen this on a drum before. are they really that much out of balance after machining?

I doubt you will see this message, but is there a trick to getting the parking brake cable on? In your video, the spring was loose and just hanging there, on mine it is incredibly tight and won't budge.
