Thanks for that video, Chris. My first car, a 35th Anniversary Edition 1999 Mustang was recently totaled by a hit and run driver. That Mustang was an automatic.
But with the payout my insurance gave me, I bought a new to me 1999 Cobra. And boy is my shifter terrible. I almost shifted into reverse once while downshifting into 4th gear. It sounded horrible! Definitely very clunky in general.
But thanks to your well thought out video, Im going to upgrade my shifter to the Steeda you just showed (and the bushing too. Im also replacing my ATF fluid while Im at it. Any recommendations on what fluid to use? All I see at my local OReilly auto shop is Mercon LV. I have the Tremec T-45, 5 speed transmission, I believe. Thanks!

Chris Fix, great video. Ive watch CJ Pony, LMR and American Muscle. None of them were as detailed as your video.
My observation with this Tri-Ax, with the adjustment bolts, why not grind the letters of the bolt head, for smooth gap fitment? Would Ny-Lock nuts be better on the those stops and as well on the shifter nuts (rather than thread locker)
Also great job on putting the torque spec on the 4 bolts to the transmission
Ive bought a 2-1/8 shift ball, frustrating that they only make an 05 up mustang shift ball retainer. Gonna attempt to make one, so I dont have to use the jam nut and close the gap to the boot. Re 94-04 mustang

I have a 2003 Mustang GT, and sometimes the shifter slips out of gear when I am rowing through. Its like sometimes it slides into gear really nice and other times it does not. Do you think a short-throw would solve this issue?
BTW, I absolutely love sn95 Mustangs, thats why I bought one for my first car.

The 94-04 standg were the best. Very owner friendly when labor is to be done, unlike the newer models, the shifter isn't this easy to install.

Still on my recommendation after almost 5 years. You should post the drift stang because you haven't posted about it in a while
