Once I bought an off brand fake turbo for a 2001 VW passat 1. 8t. bought the car with a bad turbo to begin with and that was the more affordable option. and also the higher performing option. My little 300 turbo made a lot more boost than the turbo. (compared it with my dads 1999 passat 1. 8t. surmising that some of those cheap turbos are actually great. a year later i ended up cracking the block and then swapped the block and sold the car before i had to tear it apart again. those 1. 8t's are fun little cars but i had lots of problems with reliability

I think there is a company in Australia that is making a high powered electric motor driven turbo system, it s a big deal because you have to use a huge electric motor, something akin to a golf cart motor to spin a real turbo up to a usable speed. It also needs a rather large and heavy battery system and because everything is so powerful there s a large current draw in the whole thing only runs for a few minutes at a time. But the good thing is that you can generate amazing levels of boost from idle onward.

Turbo inducer / exducer relatetes to each turbine or compressor.
Inducer is the part where the gas approaches the compressor/turbine and exducer is the part of the wheel where the gas leaves it.
For compressor the inducer is the face and exducer is the radial direction and vice versa for turbine.

Benefit of living in USA modified cars dont have higher insurance unless you pay for a full coverage show car insurance. you turbo you 86 Toyota Corolla it's still insured as a old 86 Toyota Corolla naturally aspirated
