Is Kia Better Than Toyota? Lets Find Out John: I just bought the new Sorento over the RAV4 because I'm tall and smashed my head on the RAV4. The RAV 4 is smaller. I get 33 MPG highway and 23 MPG city with the 2. 4L 4 and the 8 speed transmission now in the new Sorentos. I also like the 100, 000 mile warranty vs the Toyota 60, 000 miles. Even more so I did pay over 7000 less for the 7 passenger base model Sorento vs the 5 passenger base model RAV4. Kia deals. Toyota does not. This is my 2nd Kia (still have the Soul with 135, 000 miles) and am very happy with both. The only issue I do see is that the Kias GDI will require periodic cleaning where the Toyota will not due to the 2nd set of injectors in the intake manifold. But since I don't have to pay for timing belts, I'm ok with that.

Hey guys, that's the following point. I would buy for 10 years ago, kindest a Toyota Landcruiser. For around 25. 000 but in that price shape I would never get a New Toyota landcruiser. So I was getting a brand new Kia Sorento with a massiv off road single Frame on body compaerable to the landcruiser BUT in detail all parts a little bit more light, not so extreme massiv as the legendary landcruiser, i admit. BUT A MGREAT ORIGINAL MADE IN KOREA and this I was see in the Quality alot. But I'm actually a freak of durability and reliability and this solid serious 4wh drive unil 2009 was in my case the best deal I ever made, compared to all that german crab cars, beginnined with Mercedes about all these Audi VW BMW parts of junk. In rost case also unfortunately, my used buyed 15 years old Mitsubishi was make yust in the rust, issues. But the 10 years Old serious offroad Sorento ( the currently models are same standard soft SUVs as Honda, Toyota Rav4 ore 80% other germans SUVs) does drive as great as on the first day does. With around 160. 000 miles on it after 10 years. But, I have to admit, the second car, the 12 years old Corolla is with around 200. 000 miles with bad handling from my wife amazing decent good in shape and my Kia I don't was start could every Day as my wife for 12 years beginnined. As I said, if you take care a little bit on it you can drive a big Kia long above 10 years without issues. Unlike the german car trash. Scotty was say the plastic trash in the engine room is much a indicator for unreliability. And of course the quality of it. But in that case, my Kia have almost every usual part in solid metal. BUT NOT SO MUCH AS SCOTTY'S OLD CELICIA I was see there.

Scotty, we bought a new 2014 kia rio hatch near the end of 2014. drove it near 5 years and put over 100 thousand miles on it. nothing more then oil changes, tires and brakes and a trans fluid change and a cat convertor under warranty. near the end it started using oil. one day the oil light started flickering. checked the oil and the stick was near dry. put in 3 quarts of oil. done some research and changed out the pvc valve. oil consumption got better but it still was using a quart a month. granted we drive alot (100k in 5 years) but we never missed a scheduled oil change. this turned us off to kia. we traded it on a new toyota. have you heard anything about oil consumption on kias?

Yes scooty, you are wrong again. The Kia 4 popper gets 21 mpg in town not 17. The freeway mpg is 29 not your claimed 23. SHEASH you need to do better research. I drove the Kia, the Toyota and Honda on the same day. The Toyota sucked, it was the most expensive, slow and handled like a wheelbarrow with a flat tire. The Kia was the quickest and cost the least. The Honda handled the best, stoped the best and got the best mpg. Plus it didnt cost much more than a Kia. Funny thing was even though Toyota had the the biggest claimed sale a similar equipment Honda costed much less. Stop giving advise on new cars because you are wrong more often than right.

I had a 2008 Kia Sorento. In 2008 the auto media werent very complimentary to Kia. I used that Sorento as my winter and bad road/off-road hunting vehicle for 12 years. It drove great, never developed any squeaks or rattles (I wont stand for those, had no visible rusting and the interior still looked great. And one more thing. nothing ever went wrong with it. Zero repairs. nothing ever broke. I replaced consumables like tires, fluids, bulbs and a battery. Thats it. Best vehicle I ever owned in 50 years of driving. If my 2019 is just as good, it will most likely be the last SUV Ill ever own.

Have a '12 Sorento GDI, (a theta engine recall listed ) first Brake job 120K stlll 1/4 or more left all around, now putting in KYB shocks all around DIY, 1 Alternator 60k due to bearings ( dealer ignored complaints about the squeals until after it went over 60K warranty threshold, Lucky i had extended wrapper with USAA, Starter motor 90K. Worst part of Kia can be the Dealers terrible Dealer service, On my 3rd dealership now to service (mostly oil changes only for the record. Got 200+ in my last Gas Mileage compensation. Mostly satisfied more so than with my 03 Acura 3. 2TL transmission ripoff.

Im glad I watched this video. Imm going to buy a used suv in the next couple of months. I was orginally going to maybe go with a Ford Escape since its the cheapest one with pretty good reliabitlity from what Ive been seeing. But I would really like a hybrid suv and the Kia Niro was one of my choices for that. Ive also been seriously considering the Ford Edge and the Mazda CX-5, both of which are a little more expensive, but at the top of my list when it comes to style/price/reliability put together.

Just an FYI Scotty, that Sorento competes with the Highlander, not the RAV4. The Sportage competes with the RAV4. Plus, even with cars at roughly the same MSRP, Kia dealers will always give you much better deals and financing rates than Toyota dealers. Thats why so many people buy them. If you want to buy a Korean car though, get one that was actually built in Korea. All of the ones with engine/transmission problems/recalls were USA or Mexico built.

I am surprised that Scotty Kilmer DID NOT PUKE on the Kia vehicle quality, like he generally does for other makes and models of automobiles, except for the TOYOTA brand. I have a 2004 and a 2005 Kia Rio with low mileage and I like both of them a great deal. I admit that the Japanese vehicles are probably a better buy, but I didn't want to pay the Japanese's somewhat INFLATED PRICE TAG Cheers from Canada, Polar Bear country.

We have had quite a few KIA/Hyundai's in my family. I bought my car, a Hyundai Elantra (Cant remember what the KIA model is, for 12k brand new Canadian. The only two that had any real problems were my mothers Santa fe that the motor went but Hyundai replaced with absolutely no out of pocket cost and it was 8k over the worrenty and my old Sedona Van was not the best. Parts were pricey/ Hard to get and electrical issues.
