You Americans are a bunch of crybabies. You want to drive over 60 miles a day, and change the oil at 25000 miles interval, and want a car to last. I work for Mercedes, and think the GLK is the best car to ever leave a Mercedes assembly plant, all of them that enter my shop only comes to change the oil and filters, maybe a light bulb from time to time. You can't kill these things, even with our roads being harsher than the torture circuits manufacturers use to test before release. And when it gives some problem, your market is so open, and parts are so cheap, that we here find it cheaper to buy from you, pay the transport and taxes, and it still end up cheaper than buying over here.

That engine is fine, the m272s go 300k + without serious problems. This glk is a lifted w204 which is what I have and I just hit 280k trouble-free without any serious problems. The engine just needs cam position sensors and will run another 150k. The glk350 engines are everywhere for 1500 at local junk yards from crashed ones. Its a simple DOHC that came out in the early 2000s, very simple engine to maintain with no direct injection, your wrong here scotty. Mercedes are like lego, if something goes wrong, you can use parts from c350 or e350 and even the engine is shared in the ml350/S350s. Just be resourceful owning a mercedes and you will be fine. Stay away from the dealer too

GL 350 Bluetec is one of the best cars I have ever owned from a 1500 Ford Windstar to 150K Ferrari California and some 20+ in between. Good power, torque, mpg, roomy, quality inside. I owned for 3days only. It gave a sensor error, my mechanics first response was. where the hell you find these cars, what is wrong with toyotas and hondas? Get rid of it. I returned the car and took my mechanic to dinner. :) The one I bought had 100k miles and looked brand new, not the engine apparently. 0 to 60k miles they are good, after that can be very costly.

It actually made the TOP 10 list of most trouble free cars according to yearly inspection stats in Sweden: )1. Opel Meriva, 4. 2 %2. Mazda 2, 4. 6 %3. Toyota IQ, 4. 8 %4. Porsche 911, 5. 2 %5. BMW Z4, 5. 5 %5. Audi Q5, 5. 5 %7. Audi A3, 5. 6 %7. Mercedes GLK, 5. 6 %9. Toyota Avensis, 5. 7 %9. Mazda 3, 5, 7 %You need to not neglect maintanance. And they will go forever. I'm suspecting Americans have a problem with that. They are complex constructions. You cant neglect maintanance on such things.

Scotty, Any thoughts on buying a used civic Si vs regular Honda Civic. I understand the engine difference and performance of both, I just meant mechanically do you have any experience/advice on why I should buy or stay away from a Civic Si. Its so hard to find regular civics with manual transmissions that arent at the end of their life, (200k +) at least in Austin. But any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks dude. Appreciatively, Steele Barile

134661km equals the mileage displayed in the cluster, your scan tool isn't reporting miles even if it says it is, sometimes you need to diagnose the tool and not the car, many tools will do this on a Benz. I would also disregard any out of spec data that the tool is giving you, if it can't get it's units right I wouldn't trust the specs it lists for data. Check a repair manual and see what specs Mercedes lists, I bet they don't match the tool.

You get one bad apple an you say they are all bad. Yeah you should run fast and far away from this one. You don't know this one's history except the milage is off. Maybe this one skipped some oil changes (Merc dealer service is expensive. The build quality of Mercedes isn't what it used to be, but is still decent. If you want a good car for that amount of money, buy a new Kia Hyundai or Honda. It is about flashing your bling buy a used one.

Scotty, we're all going to keep telling you this again and again. The 2006-2012 Ford Fusion's have absolutely NOTHING to do with Volvo Please stop saying that They're Mazda 6's The share the Mazda 6 chassis and the Mazda 4 cylinder. Yes, Volvo and Ford had a partnership once. But the Fusion was not part of it. The Fusion was part of the Ford and Mazda partnership. You are 100% incorrect.

KMS to MILES x. 62137 true however I did get scammed by a dash replacement bought at 129, 000 computer showed 430, 000 cost me 291. oo/ mo over 3yrs. .. 2007 x-trail sent to the crusher after 3g in parts thinking that it had 129, 000. .. So Scotty has a point that it can be done as the computer & dash recorded odo are separate on many cars.
