hey scotty i got a question for you! i have a 2015 ford escape 2. 0 EcoBoost with 122k. recently when i first start my car and i usually let it idle for about 3 minutes and i put it in drive and the car jolts a little bit! if i put it in reverse or neutral its all smooth! once the car warms up everything is smooth like coming out of a store start the car put it in drive and its smooth only when i first start my car, my transmission was rebuilt at 53k and now has 122k on it, last week i did do a transmission drain and fill on it and the transmission fluid was dirty and black! but it did have a little red color to it! and the transmission fluid didnt smell burnt. it seemed to fix the problem start the car in the morning put it in drive all smooth! i think the problem is coming back when i put the car in drive its very slight jerk, do you think i should do another drain and fill on the transmission to get more of the dirty fluid out? any advice? oh yeah no check engine light on.

Hello Mr. Kilmer i have a 2016 3. 6r subaru legacy and I'm having issues with the ac compressor! It stops cooling when i idle the car for 5 minutes during the afternoon when it's hot.
I had the same problem 2 years ago when the car reached 48k miles, they changed the compressor under warranty and now it reached 110k miles and I'm having the same problem again, the compressor is made in jp but I can't keep changing this clutchless denso crap every 50k miles what should I do?
I have a 2003 legacy 280k miles with the original factory clutch compressor still runs like a dream.

Communist California requires a California stamped Cat which is approved by CARB. So California gets their fee, the politicians get their fee and you get nothing but less money in your pockets at the end of the day for the same Cat you can get anywhere else without the stamp but will not be passed by a California inspector. Also, if you fail smog more than one time your vehicle will be flagged and you will be required to test every year until you sell the car and since California changes the emission standards every year more than likely you will not pass the following year.

Scotty! I so much appreciate your videos! I m new here and I m learning a lot! I m all about driving older cars and taking car of them to save money.
May I make a request, please do a video on 96 - 07 taurus / sable for your over all opinion of them. I ve had a few and they ve been good cars and their are tons of them so you can usually find parts and work on them easy. What s your opinion of them?
I also found a grandma driven 05 Toyota Camry with 52k miles in perfect condition for 4k so I m pretty thrilled about that! Thanks!

Toyota needs to make that part out of better and thicker plastic. It would be fine then. In many cases the plastic is cheap and thin. Take clear headlight covers. These are made with cheap plastic that will not hold up to everyday driving, they get scratched and fade quickly. If they used a thick durable plastic such as Triton plastic, these parts would last twice as long. Durable plastics do exist, you just rarely see them in commercially available products. You will see them in industrial processes where durability is a requirement.

Scotty, I got a question and you can probably help me. I have a Nissan Qashqai j10 from 2007 2. o Dci 110kw / 150 HP with manual transmission (i know it's a crappy car but it was my teen dream to get one) It has 204000km (1267597 mi) and when I drive on the Autobahn and shift from 4 to 5th and between 100km/h and 140km/h I get these vibrations but not lower than 100 or after I surpass 140km/h once I go in the 6th and drive 160 -200km/h it's all ok. My first assumption is gearbox What is your opinion?

My niece just had her 03 Corolla a/c worked on at a shop. They tested for leaks, refilled the system and replaced the fuses under the dash. Still couldn't get it working and refunded her money. I took a gander at it. Notice that the a/c clutch wasn't engaging. Checked the voltage to the compressor. Couldn't get a reading. Started checking if there was a relay that wasn't listed some where. Sure enough that is what it was. 20 fix.

On the Saturn that needs catalytic converters in California (the state of Confusion): check at a muffler shop. There are aftermarket converters that are approved by CARB. The installer must use the correct ones for that particular engine family. I'm having new cats installed on my Explorer, and he is just going to weld in new universal types that are for the engine in the vehicle.
