Heres Why You Need This Truck for the Apocalypse ElectricSoldier: So, my Silverado had serious transmission issues, thought my truck was done for awhile. Talk about scared. Through further inspection discovered it was just the lines, will be repairing that when the parts get in from RA (as the 3 popular walk in stores all had to order the crap anyway, in which case is 50/50 on getting the correct part- from what I have seen over the years- story for another day) That day I was forced to purchase a low budget used vehicle. Lucky for me, just a mile up the road was a man selling a Toyota 4Runner SR5. Beat up, 230, 000 miles on it, some rust not much, some maintenance had been done on it. Needs valve cover gaskets, Ill be doing that fun job for the 1st time after I get my Chevy back online. But I will say this, that 4runner is 20 years old, high miles, and still runs like a champ Its unbelievable in fact, how good this 20 year old truck is. Im considering it my new summer project. If I buy a newer vehicle it will be a Taco or another 4runner (maybe just maybe a FJ. The gas mileage does suck And you cant really go over 65 mph without wobble. Just drive conservative, its a Truck not a car. Were not trying to win races, just trying to get to and from work and maybe through anything an off road scenario can throw at us. BTW Scott, I almost went into debt, considering purchasing a 2013 FJ Cruiser, after watching your FJ Cruiser video. That is a 4x4 Those are super tough But something about me rolling backwards into 2 feet of mud into a boulder or tree and the thought of the 1/4 panel getting crushed and the repairs on a truck that is no longer produced left me a little uneasy. Thanks for your videos Scotty You the man

Lol. Literally every other video Scotty puts up hes telling us about how this or that modification is a waste of money and will destroy your vehicle. Now hes encouraging us to send our videos in to show off our mods. Make up your mindAs for the video, the camper is built for comfort umm. wut? You put a thin rubber floor liner in the bed and thats comfort? Lol. A bunch of led lights, wheels, snow rated tires(in Florida, window/headlight tint and a box cap dont make this truck anything special. Thats a typical Canadian daily driver. Hell. the manufacturers are releasing trucks set up like this up here.

Nah. should get a nice diesel truck, bigger, more room, more power, crew cab long box with a Titan fuel system, you can get over 200 gallons of extra fuel with Titans tanks and upgrades. travel the entire country from end to end if you had the right system with full tanks. Im not a fan of diesel though, I like the power of gasoline, diesel is just better for long hauls and apocalyptic scenarios if that stuff even happens.

Hey Matt, Did you ever consider buying a vehicle that might prevent the apocalypse, rather than one that avoids the consequences of the disaster it will help create? I mean, do you know the date. What year? .. . Still waiting for someone to show-off a green vehicle or at least one that saves fuel; something that makes sense for the times we live in.

Any car that has an electronic fuel pump or an ECU is no good in case of a solar flate, EMP weapons or nuclear attack (Each one because the emp plast will screw it up. Old cars with mechanical fuel pumps are the most reliable. Dont get me wrong this is a nice truck But best are 1980s hiluxes or safaris/patrols anything with no electronics

I wish I escaped the Campfire in Paradise in that thing. My old 90 Silverado has been falling apart ever since. At least it waited a couple weeks before it broke down multiple times. Lol they need to bring back that Pimp my ride show.

Great aftermarket mods and combinations, personally Id think to have something a bit bigger with all that would be more practical (Hauling all that gear doesnt help your Fuel Economy or even acceleration/Deceleration. Thats just me though.

Ever notice the taliban drive toyota tacomas and 4runners. Cause they last. Guess who they are gonna be coming for when the other cars dont work. How do you say thanks for the gear in talibanish? I like the truck and so will they.

I never got the apocalypse thing. if its the end of the world, nothing survives Also you want non-computerized vehicles for the emp dream thing. 16mpg is pretty good, Im lucky if I get 10mpg. an upgrade from my 3-5mpg camaro.

That truck screams I have AR15s in here for the whole family. A lot of well to do preppers have rigs like that here in the Pacific Northwest. Makes it easy for tweakers to know who to break into when they do a grocery run.
