The world heritage listed Albula Railway. With it's 55 bridges and 39 tunnels, it is one of the most spectacular narrow gauge railways in the world. The centerpiece is the 5866m long Albula tunnel, which at 1820m above sea level, is the second highest alpine tunnel in Switzerland. Our journey starts in Chur, the terminus station of the SBB normal gauge line from Zrich

Clearly I was born in the wrong country, even though my Grandfather was born in Geneva, sadly it dosen't give me the right to
apply for Swiss citizenship.

I've travelled on a few Swiss train services - mostly within the Bernese Oberland, even at the age of 11, I was struck with how clean Switzerland is compared to my own garbage dump of a country. But it has to be said, Switzerland puts just about every other country on the world map to shame.

Stunning rail journey, thank you so much for the upload, so appreciated by those of us unwillingly 'exiled from Europe' by our own selfish fellow citizens.

Just started watching and a big thanks for the information on signage, speed, grade, etc. Now I know. Continuing to watch. Thanks for the detailed info. Also, appreciate seeing the locomotive which I'm getting for my G scale RhB layout soon.

Lovely ride! So many viaducts and tunnels. I really enjoyed seeing the phases of modernization in the tunnels. I was confused about the construction in Bever, I dont remember any notes about it.

Out of interest - if you were going to take a one-day journey through Switzerland, which route would you take? To see the most best scenery.

Why does only one of the tracks have a third rail? (I'm assuming it is there to allow for standard gauge traffic.

The Japanese proverb says, The lawn next door looks blue, and the Swiss car window looks just wonderfully blue.
