Arriving in Bergen at 8am, changed direction and getting ready to head for Myrdal on this windy morning. On my way to bergen in the 6: 08am departure from voss we encountered a triggered avalanche warning system. You would think that things would be smooth sailing after that, but no. On this part we can add a technical signalling failure. A train drivers heart stopper is to see a signal switch from green to red right in front of you. Absolutely unwatchable as relaxation with all the commercials now. I know it's not the uploader's fault, but it's a shame. I used to enjoy watching these as I meditate but that really doesn't work when you're just getting still, drifting along and all of a sudden it's TRY OUR NEW GARLIC BREAD CRAP ONLY 9. 99 OR SOMETHING NOW NOW BUY IT NOW that was workable when it was every five or ten minutes, but every thirty or so seconds? No way.
Great videos though regardless.

So pretty out there! But wow what a different ambiance the whole place has. All those mountains and forests surrounding your little town in Winter. Must make it feel like you're cut off from the world, even as you're driving along train tracks. I can see how even now in our modern world, it could give rise to all sorts of spooky stories.

Right now where I am it's 90 degrees outside, and it's predicted to be well over 100 degrees most of the week (38 C. So I had to watch this video to cool down. No matter how cold and snowy winter gets, I never complain because I remember days like this.

Station at 01: 24? Does it have a name - is it a stop-by-request? How does that work - do people buy a ticket online and that generates the request to stop. I noticed the guy walking up the little ramp as the train came in so it's all well-synchronised!

Jeeeze, how long is that first tunnel? That thing had to be at least 5 km long. I cannot even imagine how long it would have taken to excavate that tunnel. It feels like it would legitimately take over a year just to do that first tunnel alone.

How does their communication devices work inside the tunnel? If you're in, for example, a concrete building, usually most mobile devices don't get a signal. I'm curious what they use for communication in the tunnels. Anyone know?

It's so peaceful riding on the train with you, HCG. thank you -- I really enjoy the trips. I have it playing in the background, full-screen on one of my three work monitors while I program code.

Notice there is a lot of tunnels on the Bergen edn of the Oslo line. Is there a running joke amongst railway staff about the 'Bergen Underground/Metro'? :-)

2021 - US here. Is there a particular reason why the engineer blows the whistle at several different places?

I never tire of these vids. I think I have watched almost all of them and some I have watched more than once.
