In this video we continue from Myrdal (Part one: and all the way to Bergen with the Class 75H. This departure is a direct/express service between Myrdal and Voss with a request stop at Upsete. From Voss the train continues as the local service to Bergen. You will notice several slow orders, those were put there due to the potential of sun bends. Sun bends happen when the heat during a day exceeds the neutralization temperature of the rail. All tracks are neutralized for a set temp that prevents it from bending during warm days or cracking during winter. Heat causes the track to expand and when it has expanded beyond the neutralization and physical space it will bend. The same during the winter but the other way. It will shrink and if to cold it can crack. Very pleasant way to pass a few hours. Thx.
I had a Norwegian great-grandfather, and this is my first time seeing his homeland. Special! (I am from New Zealand, and we have some similar landscapes. Tunnels)
One question: in the final seconds, at the BERGEN terminal, you pixelated a group of passengers (on the left. Where they Japanese? and if so - then may I complement you on your cultural knowledge and sensitivity.

I have a question - on those long tunnels, do you notice increasing pressure on your ears? My train experience is mostly limited to the KTX in Korea. When a KTX goes through a long tunnel, usually traveling 250 - 280 kmh, I notice increasing pressure on my ears as the air in the tunnel gets compressed in front of the train.

Sun bends are called sun kinks over here. By either name a train usually stay on the track through one. For the uninitiated a kink appears to be a big S or wave in the track. A pull-apart or cracking in winter will set the signals to red because of the circuit break.

I just got this thing about Norwegian railway tunnels even the shorter ones seem more mysterious than U. K. tunnels
To think in a couple of months those wonderfully scenic mountain sides will covered in snow for the next 6 months.

This is the best way to get around in Norway. Just jump on a train and ride through the mountains and tunnels and through beautiful scenery with a river running alongside the train. What a perfect way to pass time.

Another great video HinduCowGirl. I love the summer colours and everything is so green. Each video just keeps getting better. Please keeping sending them and showing all the viewers just how beautiful Norway is.

And, wonderful ride, as always. I know you enjoy winter, judging by your videos, and I do as well, but it's pleasant to see the area in summer, especially if I don't have to swat mosquitoes.

Nice view, nice country, nice trains: ) Our train speed record in Slovakia was 130kmh in 1936. After 80 years they drive even faster in some straight track parts(50km. 160kmh.

Im watching this in NJ USA as we get the rain and wind from Dorian, she's heading northwest offshore, just extreme outer bands of rain, the surfers love it.

At the Arna station, I noticed some rails lined up inside your track. Is it just a handy space to store spare rails, or are they serving a function?
