Spend a day watching steam trains in glorious sunshine on the Mid Hampshire Railway (Watercress Line) Timsvideochannel1: Hi, the camera is only 6. 1 million pixels when taking still photos, not in video mode. It is too big to fit in my pocket. There are some small still cameras that are capable of taking good video footage. Cameras are getting smaller and better all the time. I recently purchased a GoPro camera, that is very small and the picture is stunning ( I have posted some video taken with it on my You Tube site, unfortunately it is not suitable as a replacement for an everyday video camera.

Hi sammyb1929. I use a Sony Handycam HDR-HC9E. It records using HDV1080i specification to Mini DV Tapes. It also takes respectable 6. 1 million mega pixel still photos. I have had it for almost 4 years, but I am reluctant to replace it as I prefer tapes to hard drives as I have never lost a video recorded to tape, but I have had a hard drive go wrong with consequent loss of data.
