Our last full day in Star- Smokovec (Slovakia) proved to be an interesting one as we made our way high into the mountains firstly by Funicular Railway to Hrebienok, before returning to Star- Smokovec for a short coach ride to nearby Tatransk- Lomnica where we boarded a series of gondolas almost to the top of Lomnick- -t-t (Lomnica Peak) the second highest and most visited peak in Slovakia-s High Tatra mountains at 2634 metres above sea level. the stunning 360 degree views as we walk the last few steps to the peak, finally we board the gondola for the trip back to Tatransk- Lomnica. medicann mgtow420 - Sent a link some people might find interesting as it explains why the forest takes on a strange appearance from 02: 51 to 07: 30. It was caused by an extreme weather event, for more information

That looks like you started higher in the mountains and went down, not up. The reason I say that is because there's a cable in the track until you reach the halfway point, then it branches to the passing car, then vanishes after the car passes.
It looks like the cars are winched from the high point by a cable which starts at one car and goes up the track to the winch then down to the other car. Am I correct or am I missing something obvious?

20-21 November 2004, Slovakia: Wind gusts clocked at 175 km/h (108 mph, the strongest since records began being kept in 1936, destroys approximately half of all the timber in the country's High Tatras mountains. Officials put the loss at tens of millions of dollars.

The ride on the Funicular railway went through some very eerie, spooky landscape. The spooky atmosphere added to by the overcast weather. As for the Gondola rides, and where your ride ended, you must have a bloody good head for heights, Tim! LOL

Fascinating. I live about 5 km from a peak that is a good 100m higher than that, but the scenery looks absolutely nothing like that!

Sadly I couldn-t watch it, due to all the weird focusing issues. Thanks for the attempt though. Lots of your stuff is just wonderful.

First looked like -njah, flat. -, but then You got it nailed: high mountains with clouds making it live!
