The condition of european trains are amazing. Sadly, yesterday I've took a regio train in Romania, and I don't lie when I say that my garbage is much cleaner than this train. Doors between cars half open and broken, seats dirtier than the ground outside, garbage on the floor, the toilets(as usual) look like a biohazard danger zone. I know it's just 2nd class, but at least try to have a decent and safe for health car

I'm living in Breda, The IC trains from brussels to Amsterdam are very good trains, only this trains are often broken. This trains will be replaced at 2021. There coming new trains called ICNG who can ride to 200kmpu. the NS has very good trains but only a few trains have power outlets. good video!

Just a little note: The coaches are called ICRmh by now; ICR is just the coaches themselves, the ICRm are the ones that had powerheads too that would have been pushed/pulled by a Class 1700, and ICRmh is the newest version, the one that is -Sandwiched- By the TRAXX Locomotives. :) Otherwise great video!

One thing about this route that baffles me is why they don't use Belgian I11 and class 13 locos because they can go faster than the Traxx/ICR sets. Also the locomotives were built by Bombardier, not Siemens. 3: 06 that's nearest coach syndrome for you.

Interesting fact for you maybe: NS originally planned to buy your beloved Corail coaches, only slightly modified. However, for the ICR stock they ended up with only the same bogies as the Corail and the body based on the dutch ICM.

Did you know that in 1989 NS got into the record books for the longest passenger train in the world. 60 cars from intercity trains, 1600 meters in length. Later, in 1981, SNCB beat Dutch record with 70 cars

Personal trash bin is definitely great for convenience, but being that large and protruding out into the seats looks uncomfortable. I'd have to sit sideways a little and can't move my leg towards the wall.

I understand that you're impressed by Antwerpen-Centraal. I visit the station very much and every time I 'm there I believe it's incredible. Lucky I just got to travel less than that 1 hour to see it.

The reason that the configuration of the train is 2, 1, 222, 1, 2class is that when the train stops on the right place in Breda en Rotterdam the first class coaches are close to the stairs and escalators.

About electric outlets: there are none (at least in 2nd class, as i've never travelled in 1st on these ICs. It's a pitty, really, and one of the very few missing features in these great cabins.

Its really strange but only the sprinter (local) trains of the NS have power sockets in the second class. On the Intercity trains and IC Brussels there only powersockets in first class

160 km/h on a HSL. What a waste. Also, I seem to remember that this train between Amsterdam and Brussel was too busy and the solution was to radically raise ticket prices.

Took stock and this exact route to get from Amsterdam to Brussels. As a North American I was impressed and thrilled to be on any train but this one was really nice.

The stations are spectacular. Being someone in the US, I'm jealous. The train looked comfy enough, but your definition of -clean- for the toilet seemed generous.

ICR was even made in the early 80's to replace -Plan E-. :-) And ICR is based on the middle coaches of our ICM EMU's. If you see ICM, look at the similarity!

I have to travel along this route quite often but for the much higher speed and less overcrowded trains I prefer to travel with the Thalys or Eurostar.

All carriages got a full rehab in 2007 for the 160 km/h. Love the fact that you visited our loved Netherlands with our best train the NS got: )

No power outlets in 2nd class in NL yet. It was nice to discover that in Switzerland almost every SBB train has power outlets in 2nd class too

Power outlets only in first class. Under chairs in double row and above your head in single. If I recall correctly, almost never used them: )

Very cool video. It would be good if you also show the train speed (using a phone app or something) when the train is cruising.

For the power outlets: you forgot to look up! There are plenty. At 4: 53 you can see how someone has connect his device.

Those coaches are basically the same as on the ICM train, they were build before the wide use of power outlets however.

These will be replaced by the ICNG somewhere in 2021/2022, max speed will then be raised to 200 km/h.
