5: 16 I'm a frequent rail user in spain and those screens are still used to play films and documentaries in most Renfe AVE and Long Distance trains, where the staff delivers free (low-quality) single use earphones to plug in the socket you show in 4: 28. In some modern Regional trains the screens only display route information instead. Maybe this particular train had the system broken? Who knows

I am a French people and I don-t feel that I am poorly educated. I understand that fall down on the floor is not the best place for an electric scooter. For me the responsible for that are the scooters operators. Our pedestrian areas are not free spaces for the ones who wants to make business on it.
reply

I couldn't get over all those abandoned scooters in the walkway to the train station. They should have coin deposit operated chain locks on them to encourage users to return them to their right places if they want their deposit back. Shopping carts already use such a system.

This is a spanish made train called Talgo capable of switching the rail gauge on the go. Because of the special wheel design the Talgo runs smoother on curves and it offer low floor entrance.
Talgo trains are used in many countries.

Very disappointed that your video subtitles say -French people are poorly educated. - Because of that, I will give this video a thumbs-down. Please explain if I'm misunderstanding or if this is a poor translation.
reply

I guess trains should switch to 5G networks for providing internet access. Although it would only be practical if there is 5G coverage throughout the line and would that cause interference with the in cab signalling system?
reply

A real shame this service and the Marseille to Barcelona service no longer run. The France to Spain high speed line now only has 2 (yes TWO) all year trains per day. What a waste of a railway line.
reply

I gave up trying to figure out how to use the Renfe wifi way earlier! I doff my hat to you.
(Coincidentally, my ride from Madrid to Valencia was on the same day you uploaded this video)

reply

Just a tip, Thibault: While you were trying to connect to the PlayRenfe WiFi, your phone battery was low. Try charging. Some apps won't work well with Low Batteries. Great video as always!

In France (where train is very successful) every one knows that the Lyon's station are the worst. If you want an idea if video, you can try the low cost TGV, ouigo, here in France
reply

That is a very nice train. I like the leather seats and the train itself. Very nice ride and I like these better than the Class 800 IEP trains and the Class 374 Eurostar.
reply

10: 25 you've typed the wrong url for the wifi: it's not play. renfe but playrenfe. renfe which is confusing, I agree, but should explain why it didn't work.
reply

I prefer the red like the High Speed Trains in Italy.
Although Iam a massive fan of French railways.
I wish Alstom would use AGVs in France.

reply

I love the colours in -turista-. It reminds me of the Swiss Guard at the Vatican, designed by Michelangelo: Purple and ocre.
reply

If you must choose for the best seat you have ever tried on board on a high speed train, would it be Thalys or Renfe SNCF AVE?
reply

OK you know you're a good geek when you whip open the toilet seat to give us all a look! Inspection passed. Your mum will be proud; )
reply

now this is pretty nice. why isn't the water potable? how are your hands clean washing in this water? $14 for a sandwich is cher
reply

Jeans made largely of holes are not appropriate in Preferente (First Class) - lets try to maintain some standards!
reply

The catering is available on Spain routes: in -Prefente- you have breakfast, lunch or dinner included in the price
reply

Nice video, but I would have much rather seen the landscape of Provence, than you struggling with the WiFi
reply

terrible: for this price, meals should be included like when you fly (or drive 1 class from the Eu to England)
reply

The wifi acces is the worst experience ever i've had in a train, both Renfe n Movistar are stingy companies
reply

This is one of my favorite TGV designs by Alstom! And thank you for the lovely video with useful info!
reply

Too much time wasted in this video with fiddling about with the internet. Enjoy the train instead!
reply

That bar coach is awesome. So much lighting, it should be implemented in all trains.
reply

I'm waiting for the day when you come to India and review our Indian Railways -
reply

nice video; chaos al always in france. and too expensive I think, but a nice renfe/sncf ave
reply

I think the final destination is Madrid, i guess is the Madrid-Marseille train.
reply

Weird how each tgv has a destination city on it, that'd mean it isnt intercompatible.
reply

2: 51 that looks like a TGV Reseau except that the bottom part looks like a duplex.
reply

In the thumbnail why did the train look like an Typical Eurostar tarin
reply

Honestly, the AVE looks like a TMST (Aka Eurostar) and a TGV reseau combined
reply

Ahhh, lovely Lyon train station, the bastard twin of London Euston)
reply

I hate those scooters. The test of them in 2019 - did not go well in Chicago!
reply

Fun fact: this is the same stock as old single deck French TGVs
