In this video people think that Amtrac is cheap well it's not and from NYC to Miami it's a lot cheaper from laugardia to Miami on jetblue or southwest and it's a lot cheaper and faster as I found out years ago and to go to long Island take the Lirr and upstate take Metro North mass transit and in the city MTA lot cheaper and as a senior citizen I get 50%off take advantage of the discounts as the state will allow it

Great video and reporting - altho' I wish you'd do audio: ) I love the upper windows of the sleeper coach - very cool! I so wish Amtrak had better and faster services in the West. I have traveled on the California Zephyr from SF to Reno - and it was just incredibly slow and tedious. LOVE the idea of you getting your railfan friends to share pictures/ videos of the train from outside - brilliant! Thanks again!

Well made video. Thank you. As for the train this is a fantastic concept, but in practice the railroad bed is so old the trains are necessarily very slow compared to other countries. We left late which I understand is typical. We also stopped a lot. Sadly, it-s faster to just drive. I love the idea however. I wish American railroads would catch up to the rest of the modern world.

Best of this series of videos thanks. Can the bottom seats adapt for a second sleeper? Also don't understand -ask for the last coach of the consist-. Does that mean the last car will usually have the newer Viewliner? And why 9712? Is that number consistent across lines?

28 hours by train vs 4 hours by plane. I don't see the attraction. Now, if you could take the car-train from New York to Miami, that would certainly be interesting! I suspect that service would be booked solid for years in advance.

I get it to do it for the experience but a airline ticket from new york to miami is as affordable at $50, literally just purchased mine yesterday and you get there in far less time than the train. P. s i love Moyinhan station

I did that run from New York down to Florida back in 1962 with my mom and my sister I don't remember a whole lot about it except it was noisy and it seemed like it took forever but I vaguely remember it
