Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains about 45 minutes west of Reno, the Western Pacific Railroad Museum has a large collection of locomotives and cars from the Western Pacific Railroad. This week, we will go on a brief tour of the museum to see their large collection and watch one of their locomotives running around the museum Balerio: Nice video, one of many things on my must see list. I've been to the feather river canyon but, after visiting that beautiful location found out about the museum afterwards. Talk about bad timing lol! Anyway as always thanks for posting Mike.

I would have loved a longer video of this place because it looks awesome, but thanks for showing what you did. Since you are into trains, if you haven't, you should check out the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL. That place was lots of fun this year. Never been to that, but unexpectedly went to that place, and I want to go back every year now. Great place.

1; 46 that one yellow locomotive looks like the most modern thing at the museum! some of them are still on shortlines!
3: 25 It's also nice to see some modern engines parked nearby!
3: 45 they have the last (number-wise) DD40AX!
4: 06 is that their only steam loco?

Thanks for posting this Mike! I don't know much about this museum, but it definitely looks like a place I need to check out if I'm ever up in that area. 805 and those geeps and switchers were also in great condition. Do any of them run?

3: 31 I believe that locomotive cab came Disney's California Adventure. Used to be part of the park entrance plaza, but when they decided to renovate it, they removed the mock train and donated the cab to this museum.

Sadly knowbody thought to save any Alco PA's! Of the 4 left, 2 are in Mexico + 1 in Texas+ 1 in Oregon. There was 2 in Brazil but i don't if they are still rusting away. Oh well.

Really nice video, right down to complaining of the sleepers as the engine crossed over them. Thanks for the video. Sleepers always complain anyway, it's they're nature.

Another great video. Awkward and awesome to hear a K5HL on vintage power. Personally I think it would make more sense to have a Nathan P-3 on there, but hey it's all good
