Sounds like engine 481 has 2 whistles attached to her steam dome. Bachmann model this Railroad but with a standard gauge 0-6-0 and 3 old time passenger cars named -Bitter Root Mine- -Tremble- and -Tacoma- Bachmann also modeled this railroad in HO scale with a standard gauge 2-8-0 consolidation numbered after K-28 473. The train set consists of engine 473, and open car like the D&S has, a combine named bitter root mine and a standard old time passenger car named Tacoma. They also sell another 2-8-0 numbered after the soon to be restored K-37 No. 493.

Wonderful footage of the truly spectacular D&S railroad Mike. Steam, snow and sub zero temperatures really are a great mix for outstanding images! I'm so impressed with no. 481 putting on a great performance trailing 12 cars on these tough grades, tough little Loco! Looked like the big plough had been out clearing the snow and all credit to you Mike for getting out there in real cold conditions to capture superb images - thanks for the ride! Best wishes as always especially at this festive time of year. Ken

9: 13 They stored all the open cars for the winter, except for two! I don't know why they would run them in the winter!
9: 46 I'm fine with that car being used in the winter!
10: 33 wow! a 4 way crossing! I've seen a 3-way that leads to a parking lot!

Blackstone models is about to come out with HOn3 K-28s and K-36s. 6 of which run on the D&S, K-28s 473, 476, 478, K-36s 481 and my favorite 486. I think 473 has got to be one of the oldest K-28 Mikado and K-36 486 has got to be the oldest K-36 Mikado still going strong.

Very good video there's something about trains in the snow I like especially with a plough on the front of them lovely winter scene its looks magical nice coaches as well good sound effects I like the open coaches nice long shots good views of the Mountains ( thanks)

New dads out there, the best way to distract a crying 2 or 3 year old is to have them watch steam train videos. they'll have a great time and you'll get some peace and quiet.
