Siemens is one of the -state of the art- locomotive and bullet train producer in the world with high end quality and efficent work costs. It's the same famos quality like qerman highend cars like Audi, BMW, Mercedes and so on. It's a little bit funny that Siemens use Cummins diesel engines and not the MAN diesel engines from the creator of the diesel engines Rudolf Diesel. MAN (today a part of the Volkswagen group) construct all versons of diesel engines in the world (for trucks, highspeed boots, coast guards, light trains, freight and passenger trains, construction machines like excavaters, graders and bucket loaders and the biggest containerships on the oceans.

Well, this give some insights to the factory. But it lacks action! Its all talk and not supported by the doings. E. g. painting: shows finished locomotive sitting there. Any filling, grinding, testing for evenness? I thought this is about _building_ a locomotive. I see little of that process. Showing the crane hook is not really what I thought this is about. And I don't want to know _how_ the loco functions. Unless the building is affected and then how you do it. Too many words and no pictures.

I find it tragic that in 2021 they are still ordering and commissioning Diesel locos. Lets hope they can be retrofitted in ten years. In Europe they're at least trying H2 or battery sets to be charged with a bit of overhead line here and there. Great tech, people, company though.

I never hated the Chargers. The reason they exist in the first place is to reduce emissions. This is also why Caltrain is being electrified, VIA Rail Canada is ordering more modern trains, and ET44ACs and SD70ACe-T4s exist. Railways are trying to make the world a cleaner place.

It's good to see something being built in the US. If they can, why can't GM, Ford, and Chrysler (foreign owned. Better yet, why can't we make our own -chips-? Why can't the government help these companies get started and producing things in the US. Thank you Siemens.

Great video and significant planning that went into it. As a CA resident, cant help asking the the obvious question. When will the regulatory Nazi's create enough headaches for Siemens to move to Texas or another state. Not if but when will it happen.

This is amazing. I wish they had twice the amount if talented workers and could provide twice the amount if new cars and locomotives. We desperately need to update and expand our rail transportion in the US

Its electric but it uses fuel and needs a generator. what's the point? Why not battery cars that would be used and left charging at train yards? And the train would just be electric motors.

Good decision of Siemens to take as much as possible of construction and even design to the USA, instead of importing from their main facilities in Europe.

unfortunately it seems most new products are just going to Eastern corridors when cross country and Midwest to West Coast needs developed
