Bellingham, Washington is a city located about 90 miles due north of Seattle along the beautiful Puget Sound. Situated in Whatcom county, the city is home to about 90, 000 residents along with the Alaska Ferrys southern terminus, city deer, and plenty of bald eagles. It is also home to the BNSF Railways Bellingham Subdivision which travels between Everett and the US-Canadian border at Blaine, Washington. The stretch of track around Bellingham is some of the most beautiful in the Pacific Northwest, passing right along the waters edge for several miles. Come along as we take a look at Amtrak Cascades passenger trains as well as BNSF Freight through Bellingham, Washington as well as the surrounding areas. CoasterFan2105 is the home of all sorts of train and railroad related video content. Stop by every Friday at 9 AM Pacific time for an all new railroading adventure and be sure to check out all of my social media pages coasterfan2105 for even more great railroad content

This right here is my neck of the woods. The line's great for railfanning, but it's just a shame that there are so few trains that travel the line daily. It's even lower at the moment because Amtrak has discontinued service on the line during the COVID-19 pandemic. Was down on the line this past Wednesday and only saw two trains in the entire six hours I was there.

This man is cheating, catching a dash 8 leading a cascades, catching GP60b s with you the GP60s, Ex BN units, including a white face, NCPUs, Amtrak dash 8 leading a rocky mountaineer, Cascades with a P42 with a f40 right behind it and no rear unit, and AMTRAK156. Like how

Hi Mike - Stunning video work that really captures the feel and flavor of the area. This is an excellent piece of work and I have saved it to my playlist. Thanks for creating these great videos. Mike Armstrong (that's right. coincidentally, it's my name, too)

The coal and container trains go across the border into Canada to the Vancouver Metroport, a huge manmade peninsula that was build when British Columbia exported coal from places like Tumbler Ridge in Northern British Columbia, but is now closed down.

Is that freight train the one that comes to a complete stop for 15 minutes on my way back from work to Birch Bay? It induces more road rage in me than anything I've ever experienced on the road. Cool video though.

CoasterFan2105 Have you ever seen Amtrak cars or locomotives with graffiti on them? Do they not sit still long enough to get tagged or is Amtrak really good at keeping them clean?
