No greater feeling of accomplishment than milling your own wood and since you're surrounded by it, might as well put it to use. Look at some old yankee/colonial furniture and see how they did it, no nails or screws, just fit it together. It doesn't have to be perfect, just functional and sturdy. It all starts with a good workstation like a Moravian workbench or your version of one and from there its all about thinking of ways to make your life easier. A strong work cart to carry logs and such would be my second suggestion.

Jake & Nicole, I thought making a book shelf out materials from your property was a great idea. I had second thoughts when you cut the vertical support legs into segments I was thinking the shelf would sway a bit when finished. Your method of screwing the shelf's and legs together worked out just fine. The self looks great. nice job Miles

Got to admit, her ax work is impressive. Jake, you need to put shims in your cut back of the saw to keep the kerf from closing up. You're going to hurt yourself eventually because when you have to push and strain with a chainsaw (or anything really) eventually you lose control and physics takes over -- it doesn't end well.

You guys don't have to go into Port Hardy to pick up mail, do you? I take it the town you're boating over to is Port Alice. Do they transport your mail over to Port Alice? Loving all videos. I've been binge watching for a couple weeks. Love that wolf hoodie Jake. Cheers!

I love Mail Time! Great addition to your show and so heartwarming to hear you read the cards and letters. When I catch up on all your shows and get up to present time I want to see what you might still need and mail something to you! So much fun. Keep up the amazing work.
