OFF GRID in a YURT: Alone with my Dogs in an Ice Storm - Ep. 73 HDVICTORY: For most off gridders, they are busy all the time. You get out of it what you put in it. I do not believe they live off grid full time. It always looks like they are on vacation. Yes, they do a project here or there, but most of what i see is 2 people fooling around, running, practicing martial arts, and other non essential things. And then they ask for money and sell swag. And the time it takes to film, I do not buy this story at all. They might come to the little yurt in the words on occasion, but live there full time lmao, no.

I'm not so concerned about the yurt roof, I'm more concerned about the sheet metal roof that you installed with the ridges parallel to the roof ridge instead of true to the ridge so that the rain and snow and ice will slide off the roof instead of building up on top until it collapses under the load. You have the roof joists spaced way too far apart to expect the tin roof to have the structural strength to stand up to a good old fashion ice storm.

Unfortunately you laid the metal roofing the wrong way. The snow and ice won't be able to slide off when it warms up in between storms. Your roof will get thicker and thicker, heavier and heavier. You'll have to redo that before the next winter.

I am so enjoying watching your dogs explore the snow! We have an Alaskan Malamute and last year was her first snow and she loved romping thru the snow. Of course she is large - 100 lbs plus, so she sounds like a horse when she runs.

I have usubbed for 2 reasons. I cant watch him throw axes and chainsaws around like that. It is an accident waiting to happen. (Have a turniquet ready) and the untasteful clickbait that lured me in at the first place.

You get a big bowl of snow and compact it. Then you add a half top of vanilla extract and a cup of sugar and half top of salt. Then you add cream to thicken it. Let it freeze for ice cream.

I love Jake and Nicolle but the use of Nicolles body on title pages is becoming a bit like a palyboy ad. shame, try to resisit going with the world guys, thats why we love you!

did jake build the deck with a slight slope away from the yurt? maybe even add like facia on the edge and hang gutters to direct water away from the posts aka foundation.
