This is great filmmaking. I love how honest it is and that it isnt spun. Very much like the three part series that the NYT did on Syrian refugees in Canada about a year ago. I live in New York these days, but I know Winnipeg and Gordon Bell High School very well. Ibraheem will get great medical attention there and great support adjusting to a foreign country and culture. I hope that his father also gets the support that he will need. Sorry for the Winnipeg winter, summers coming: )

Wishing for you a wonderful life, Ibrahim. You are still very young, and there is much more to come of your life story. You have been through such hard times, and I'm sure it is still so hard. But I hope you will have a good life, with lots of warm human connections, a reason to live (something that is very important to you, and a hopeful heart.

People who have faced down adversity like this and come out the other side are some of the strongest, bravest, hardest working people on earth. These are the type of people the new America hates and demonizes. Canada is lucky to have them.

I lost my whole family at a young age too. All my siblings and my parents passed away when I was 20 and that's when I moved to the US. It's been 22 years away from my family, I cry every day still for their loss and my loneliness.

There is nothing in this world that I haven't seen. What a strong claim from such a young man. Welcome to Canada! I hope you are able to begin to see good things that you haven't seen in life.
