Lol. Wonder why they are so funny in finding partner. These happens only in backward minded families. I m tamil too but I never did anything like these.
Also these people just come for earning some money. sorry for him he seems to be good hearted and a family man, but living in a faraway land for earning.
Why can't he search someone in wherever he lives, it seems there are tamil people there.
Good luck.
I can't stop laughing, just funny.
He seems good.

Inspiring how he left his homeland to go work in Singapore to earn so he can build his own house that too on a driver's salary. On the other hand there are literally people earning at least 10 times more than him but drowning in debt. Surprising how perseverance and tenacity can work wonders to improve one's life. Good luck to him!

Simply going to all these photo studios, spending some dollars on these fake photographies, false attractiveness by hiding the miserable inner hidden truth, etc and then getting into their realities by demanding these criminal dowries! Shame on such big-mustaches that showing their ungraceful muscles on the weak, old fathers-in-law!

He did get married. An excerpt from the NY Times article
A year after I finished this film, Patha finally found a wife through this service but it remains long distance as she studies for her masters in microbiology in India and he continues to work as a truck driver in Singapore

Great work by NYT, It gives an insight into the lives of migrant workers in Singapore. Though they 1000 miles away from their homeland they are rooted to their beliefs (i dont want to call it culture. The lead character is charming and truly portrays the psychic of Tamil youth.

Interesting that he says he wants a girl with a degree and that she doesnt have to be beautiful. Thats like us girls saying we want a handsome guy who doesnt have to be rich/educated lol. Anyways, fascinating documentary

Just to point out, love marriage isn't really an option. The principal part of that is the falling in love part, which basically just happens. Wouldn't we just all want to fall in love if we could?
