This is so gender discriminating, to call herself dad, because she chooses to have a male role in the family, and wearing the -pants-. If she would be really free in mind, she would not have to let herself called -dad-. That-s emotional abuse and totaly overwhelming to the children to say they have to choose their gender. They already have one. And as long as the kids are ok with it, they should reasure them in this.
Don-t get me wrong, I-m totally ok with those who want to be read in another gender than they are born in. But I-m not fine with leaving kids in confusion.

I-m extremely alarmed by most of these comments. I am a non-binary minor and this family seems extremely happy and nonabusive. One comment complained about hygiene issues but that has nothing to do with gender. Let kids be kids! Don-t force a whole culture on them because of their genitals!

gender develops between the ages of 3-7 so kids do know their gender at a certain age. Whether that's congruent is not the parent's choice so it's good to raise them as them, not a gender.
