I was 410lbs - now i'm half the size - brand new me

AT 410lbs, David Roden realised enough was enough and has now lost around 200lbs - nearly half his body weight. By the time David, from Grand Rapids, Michigan, was 15 years old, he weighed 300Ibs and had super high blood pressure. He told Truly: -I was 18 years old, weighed over 400Ibs and just fluctuated over the next few years till I was 22 which is when I really made the shift to take more control of the actions I was doing in my life. With an addiction to diet soda, David drank 15 to 20 cans a day and would drink privately rather than publicly. David knew he had to cut his weight in half and had a vision of looking 200Ibs lighter. After hitting 50Ibs down, everything changed and he felt in control to make it work. David continued: -I remember looking at myself in the mirror, and broke down crying. I changed not just physically but mentally and spiritually on how I treated myself and others around me. After that it was just a massive shift

I used to be really fat. I was on the verge of developing serious health conditions. I remember not being able to tie my shoelaces and my sleep suffered as well. My life changed when I finally set my mind to the thinking that anything is possible if you decide to do it. I took a meal plan to start with. I created it online, on website called dietarize, which was super helpful to me. I didn't have to worry about calories, macros, nutrients and all that stuff. I just focused on walking long distances and exercising after I got on a level where I could do some simple workouts. I hope my story will inspire you to do the same. To change your body you must first change your mind!

A little off subject but why does football matter so much to people? Everyone wants to be a highschool football star, why? So you can reminisce the glory days for the rest of your life about how great things were before you got a soul sucking job and popped out a few kids so they can go down the same path you did? It-s not something anyone turns into anything to benefit them after school. They become drunken box office beer gut dads who yell at the TV and drink Bud light while watching the NFL. That-s the majority of people I meet who are obsessed with football. It-s just a television subject they-re obsessed with.

There is nothing positive about being obese. We are living in a time when people are so mentally weak they cannot accept the fact that their own, controllable actions are leading to miserable lives and to get rid of that pain they make fake concepts like -self-acceptance- and attack anyone who disagrees.

I-m sorry but I don-t find this video that motivating! If I had a weight problem I would feel a little bit discouraged! Nothing wrong with learning to love yourself wether you fat or skinny! You need to get to that point to want to take care of your body. It-s mental too, not only physical. Best

I like what he said about body positivity and it's misconception with obesity. Love is about discipline and respect. Treat your body with real love, eat healthy food and not make excuses that you're alright sitting there with an extra 200 to 300 pounds with sodas and sweets.

Wow I really love this. What a brilliant video. I downloaded the book and looking forward to reading it. The little actions every day. That seems to be the secret. Also not beating yourself up if you fail a few times. As long as you keep looking forward.

Recent time I got lots of weights, my issue is that I have slow metabolism, no matter what I do I always get weight. Plus due to financial issue I can't join gym or give exta time for exercises. Wish at least I have free time and money to do what I love.

Sadly most of us over weight people self inflicted the weight problem on ourselves, no one else to blame, it-s a pitty we all didn-t know what we know now after the fact that we damaged ourselves. This guy seen the light, great job.

Similiar situation, Heaviest was - 420 lbs in 2016, lost 100 lbs undisciplined, gained it back over 4 years. Started 405 in Sept. 2020 and down to 295 the disciplined way and I don-t see it coming back.

this is great and good for him but diet coke didn't make him fat. the worst part about drinking a case of it would be the amount of caffeine - aspartame doesn't increase hunger.

Good for you buddy! It seems like you doged a huge bullet. Do something amazing with your life honey!
-Loving your body is respecting your body. - just brilliant!

I was 410 pounds at the start of 2020. I'm now down to 310.
I still have over 100 to lose to reach my goal, but we're basically half way there, baby!

I-m on a similar journey. I-ve lost 50 pounds this year alone. At my biggest I was 420 pounds. I-m down to 326. My goal weight is 180.

I drink (just to say what the heck) a few cans a day because I drink water in between, and I don't think it doesn't affect my weight.

42lbs down since February 2021. Thank you for sharing your story, it's encouraging as I take on my own lifestyle change!

I love that he mentioned the true meaning of body positivity. Obesity is bad for everyone. It does not discriminate.
reply

I am so glad he said -Loving your body means respecting your body. - I am not a fan of fat body positivity.

Diet coke? It's got 0 calories. Not to say the additives are bad but there's way worse. regular cokes?
