A DISABLED INFLUENCER wants to be the role model she never saw herself as a child. Kartier Rose, 23, was born with spinal muscular atrophy - a progressive condition that causes the muscles to get weaker over time. She has been in a wheelchair virtually her entire life, and endured horrendous bullying as a child, with her tormentors even accusing her of faking her disability. But Kartier, of Bradford, UK, refuses to be held back, and has now become a successful influencer. On her YouTube and Instagram pages, she shares beauty tutorials, fashion tips and an insight into the realities of life with a disability. She also does modelling, and has even launched her own line of vegan false lashes. Kartier said: I loved reading fashion magazines as a child, but disabled people were underrepresented. Seeing models that looked like me would have massively helped my confidence. You can

I wish Many More Massively Famous Designer Labels would include Differently Abled Models in their Fashion Photo Campaigns, as well as Runway shows, especially during Fashion Wk etc. So Many Major Media Outlets from Around The World Report on, and Publish Millions of Images of those Event's each Season! Imagine the Mainstream Population being exposed to, and embracing the Reflection of what People in Society -Truly- Represent and Actually Look Like in Normal Reality. Rather than some Masogynistic, Unhealthy, Falsely Based, Unrealistic Image they have Created and Displayed for Years and Years! Forcing Models to conform to a Size 0 to make it easier to uniformly design and fit them, parade them on their Runways like Bred and Trained Animals who Visually Pose and Perform on Command Accordingly! However, something like this will never transpire without Public Pressure and Demand! So it's Entirely up to WE THE PEOPLE, to Amend these awful Stereotypes in the Fashion, Film, TV, Publishing, Brand Marketing etc Industries, and Include Models who Represent the Pure Truth of Humanity, Not some Obscene Standard that (primarily) Men have contrived. These Detrimental Images of -Traditional Beauty- which has unfortunately since its inception and mass acceptance, have evolved into the Acceptable -Norm- for Consumers, very much like other Historically Negatively -Contrived- Cultural beliefs and Institutions have in the past. For Example; 'Women are not as Smart as Men therfore are Not allowed to Vote, and should get paid less of a wage whilst working the same career'. Some of hese Old Fashioned Attitudes have changed due to Social Pressure and protest over many years, however other's have continued on, gradually embedding itself into our own psyche, exacerbated by constructs such as; the Media, Movies, Marketing and the 247 Barrage of Content we Consume. We can see this is often subconsciously perpetuated within our own personal and family style expenditures. These are just a few examples of how we are exposed to, and how the Toxic, Descriminatory imagery our bombarded and brainwashed Brains face, can trick us to believe what True Beauty Should Actually Physically -Look Like- is Created! -ladyk_love

It worries me, how superficial girls hobbies have become. I get she wants to look like everyone else, but what happens when our youths depletes?
What happens when we have to stop destroying the rain forests just so we can hide behind make up with palm oil?
Please encourage her to use her BRAIN. Or at the very least, Piano lessons? What kind of parents would let their child wallow in the pool of adolescent desperate mono-mania, public approval & Social Media?
Isn't it typical? If you're a man, you go on to be the world's most prolific astro-physicist. (Stephen Hawkins)
But oh dear. she's a girl so come on! Dull yourself up -babe-, look upto skin-deep models for the face they were born with! Maybe get breast implants? Labia Plastic or release a shitty line of clothing? Really gonna save the planet we are! Right girls? lol

Ok, i am 61 years old and disabled. I am married 41 years this year. My husband is also disabled. We have never let that stop us from being productive. We have two adult children and they are good people. The things is i wear makeup and do my hair everyday. I dress nice except when i paint. We don-t get many visitors here, but i never want to appear unkept. I also when am out in public never want people to look at me with pity. I will not allow that. I great everyone with a smile. If they see i am happy being me they are very receptive to me. I completely understand you and how you feel. Stay strong and never change, you are beautiful,

Kat I bloody love you and don-t you forget it. Ignore the haters, if they had the honour of knowing you personally like I do then they-d be ashamed of their judgment and presumptions. You-re doing what makes you happy, as you have every right to do, and I couldn-t be more proud.

We as humans are so much more than our bodies, our faces. Real beauty comes from within. I'm very compelled to surround myself with kind and compassionate people. I don't care what you look like. A beautiful soul can't be created with make up.

Have to say I agree w her bout the modeling issue. There-s no magazine that has a individual that is handicapped, plus they-re not living a reall life that your average person does.

Kartier you are gorgeous! I love your style choices, particularly your piercings and tattoos. I-m with you on the desire for wider representation. You rock: )

She don-t need your pity until her makeup looks get old and there-s nobody to influence. You got to love the girl in the mirror with no friends first!

Being positive, OK. good for your but the -don't need your pity. influencer dream- is a bit much. Just be yourself, do your thing and be happy.

Congratulations, Kartier! You are a powerhouse and an inspiration, as always. Thank you for your important messages. The world surely needs them.

This young lady is living and loving her life more than most, many people just piss and moan about how bad their lives are for no real reason.
reply

truthfully, she is not capable or talented at all. Pity is the only reason she gets attention.
a cephalopod is cuter than that thing.

The fact she can-t use her hand like how a -normal- person would use one and still be amazing and talented at makeup so awesome!

Im sorry, i dont mean to be rude, but why is she leaning forward in her chair? Isnt that posture further harming her back?
reply

To be strong & confident people dont need to be Influencers. Just be yourself be humble and help others. Just saying
