I-ve no problem in general with what she-s doing I think it-s kinda epic like I think that stuff should be donated to maybe charity shops ect but but where I am abit concerned if she-s selling this stuff not mentioning she got it dumpster diving it-s wrong for the simple fact she-s selling stuff that might if had wild animals with diseases on it. Like if it-s in the box she should take it out if the box before sending it. I think she should be a lot more careful and get worker gloves as you can get diseases if you cut your hands on something so fir her sake. I don-t think she should be selling stuff for babies though like that is concerning to me because babies don-t have the immune system we do and what is say a raccoon has slept on it like it her we-d-site mentions this had been found while dumpster diving no problem them as it-s up to the parents if they-re okay with that but when it comes to things you put in your mouth or say studs you put in your ears things then I am abit concerned on how she makes sure they are clean and safe to use I know shop dumpsters are normally a lot cleaner then normal dumpsters but they still have animals that go in them or food waste like if it-s in a box she throws the box away and sells it go for it but I-m just worried about things you eat on or give to babies cause what if they-re not clean how can she say 100% they-re safe to use when she doesn-t know if an animal has touched it that might be covered in diseases - like in general I actually think what she-s doing is really good and I don-t agree with how much stuff shops throw away that are in great condition really they should have a donation bin that stuff that can be donated should go in so it-s going towards a good cause rather then the landfill so I-m not judging it-s more concern for them and if they-re insuring the item is clean before selling if she could let me know it would make me feel better even just wiping things down with anti-Bact Yano or sterilising thing-s exspecially for babies & kids

My cousin used to live in some apartments and he went dumpster diving all the time just like her and it's addicting. Hell, i even went with him several times and you'd be surprised what they throw out when they're evicting an apartment and just toss it all in the dumpster. I have got a lot of stuff from him and by doing it and i don't have any shame in saying it. I actually introduced them into the fb marketplace and apps like letgo where i told him and his wife to turn it into an income/business with stuff they get and just sell it. Well they did and everything sold all the time. They weren't phone savvy so i helped them out and i didn't want him to turn into a hoarder with a ton of crap he didn't need. Lol.

I don-t see anything wrong with her doing this, just imagine how much money she save & make. in some states stores have security or their dumpsters locked to keep people out. I don-t hate this lady & her family for doing this, people are going to judge regardless, that-s the problem with us, some of us are always being judgmental when we don-t know what-s going on in someone-s home. If it-s not a threat or negative hazard, we need not to worry, ijs.

I'm a bit of a germophobe so I would never be able to do this and would feel really dirty after a day of dumpster diving. But it seems kind of underrated. I've thrown away stuff that could be useful for other people on some occasions if I'm being completely honest.
Edit: Why are they touching the sides of it with their bare hands and letting their hair touch? Disgusting.

Sorry, but that is a health hazard. Jumping into dirty, disgusting bins and then getting back into their cars covered with traces of probably every kind of filth on them? Oh no, that's not good. Cutting hands on glass whilst in a bin is a sure-fire way of getting an infection. Do they even wash their hands or their finds after?

I wish people would stop throwing away perfectly good stuff, it's so wasteful. Seeing brand new stuff in the trash like new notebooks and TVs and clothes and stuff. at least donate it to Goodwill instead of throwing it out! I don't blame these people for digging through the trash when there's all this treasure in there

Ok. so this is prob only possible in RICH countries. Here we use something untill it is broken BROKEN or has holes in it. They SELL you broken stuff instead of throwing it away - I can't imagine finding all this stuff on my island. They even BURN them rather than give it away or put it in the trash for you to find.

Come to think of it, my family and I lived in a beautiful neighborhood where neighbors through away good items. Every Wednesday, we-d walk the neighborhood and found a brand new gas grill, and a complete books about auto mechanics, which we sold for $200, the books were still in the box neat & in great condition!

Im not against this. I just hate when newborn mothers dumpster dive to find things for their newborn as its unsanitary and knowing the damage that viruses and bacteria can cause makes it worse to think about. And dumpster diving for food is really gross to me but dumpster diving for household things isnt bad at all.

It's crazy how much stuff people put to the trash I hate putting stuff in the garage unless I absolutely have to. Why fill the landfill more if it can go to use. Though I don't think I would ever want to go directly into a garage to get stuff. Maby besides but not in.

Seems perfectly fine. Why would other people have a problem with that? It's stuff that was gonna get thrown away anyway. The only thing she needs to invest in is a face mask and some good gloves. Also make sure she disinfects everything she finds and keeps

I think the only problem I-d have with that would be hygiene. Especially since she doesn-t seem to wear gloves-But besides that I think that-s it-s an amazing way to recycle and create a business for your family with little cost!

I once found a Little Tikes train set that had been thrown by a skip and cost a fair amount of money new. I cleaned it up and my toddler was over the moon with her birthday present AND it didn't end up in landfill piles -.

You are fabulous! What an inspiration you are. I hope others will start doing it. It is disgusting to see stores throwing away things, especially food. I would join you but I am 76 and too old for it. I really admire you.

I grew up in West Baltimore. My maternal grandmother used to make me dumpster dive for her. She-d have me grab everything from food to clothes to brand new (literally brand new) electronics.

There is absolutely nothing to judge here. They are using things that would otherwise go to landfill. It helps the environment, and is good for your wallet. I think it-s brilliant.

I grew up -dumpster diving-, not on a regular basis, but still. Always looked forward to spring clean up, found tons of great stuff for a charity yard sale that way.

I love that she-s recycling things. She-s reducing waste! However, proper protective gear should be had. Human beings are gross but their garbage is worse. --

I live near three apartment buildings with a lot of elderly people. There's nice stuff there all the time but its kind of well known so pickers go there a lot.

Nah. I respect people like her for their courage and honestly, in a world full of consumerism, salvaging all this stuff is actually pretty cool

If you want to dive in dumpsters, have at it but don't make your kids go with you.
They probably get teased mercilessly at school.

The Naked Roommate book- That was a required textbook during my freshman year. I never so much as opened it, but it still cost way too much.

Honestly, you can find some really neat stuff that people throw away because it's got a small dent or it's got a micro scratch.
