My nephew has the mild case of oi. He's 30 has 5 children. A few years ago he was in a car accident. He crushed his femur, dislocated and broke both knees, 3 ribs, his collar bone and 3 vertabre in his back. It took him 2 years before he was able to walk again. He just recently hit his knee at work on the tailgate of a truck and rebroke his knee. He has had so many pins and screws and all kinds of metal put in his arms and legs. They says God doesn't give you more than you can handle. Oh has a tow truck driver.

When she said -We don't get to choose what happens to us, but we can choose how we live our lives- that struck so many chords. 2020 has been such a difficult and trying year for me. As I'm sure it has been for so many other people. But she is %110 right about us choosing how we go from there. I love her positivity. I should really take her words in strides and try to overcome my obstacles, 1 by one, however big or small. You go girl!

I my myself OI. Yes people stares and may be more in a society where I am. But I damm give it any weight. Sometimes if someone looks for a longer than expected, I say, : YES I AM DIFFERENT, But this is what I am. I have seen many OIers, but MEAGEN seems to me exceptionally realistic. I wish if i was in Canada, i surely would have been there to celebrate your wedding. I am wishful for a fantastic life ahead for both of you.

What an amazing, beautiful, intelligent, young woman. Why is someone in a wheelchair strange to some people? They can't run marathons. I have 2 functioning legs & I can't either! So what?
