I get ghosted because of my curved spine - shake my beauty

27-YEAR-OLD photographer Becky Dann from London, UK was born with Kyphoscoliosis - a severe curvature of the spine. Becky-s condition deteriorated over the years, resulting in her spine collapsing at the age of 10, and having to use a wheelchair to get around. The curvature of the spine has also affected Becky-s height, she-s 4ft 7. Becky was bullied during high school, which severely affected her confidence. -I tried to hide my disability, I grew my hair long, wore baggy clothes, I avoided mirrors and didn-t like looking at myself, - Becky told Truly. It wasn-t until college that Becky started to realise that although she was -different-, that wasn-t necessarily a bad thing. Finding her confidence resulted in Becky starting a photography project called -I-m Fine-, featuring self portraits that highlighted her scoliosis. -I did it because I always felt like people treated me as if I-m fragile, just because I have a disability, - she added. Becky entered her photographs into a competition, resulting in her pictures going viral; -Suddenly I was very aware that my body and my disability was so public, and I was worried about what the response might be, but to my surprise it was very positive. - Becky now uses her social media platform to inspire others and show her disability for what it is. -My self-confidence has grown so much, I like who I am and I would never change my body

Let's get honest here. She dictated -all men- and her problems with Chads on the dating apps. You probably won't find quality there. Did she swipe right on all men that had decent profiles and didn't seem like a Chad or did she just swipe right on the -hot- ones like most people? Just wait. She dates enough women, she'll see just how equal men and women really are when it comes to toxicity. Her difference will be that she won't be looked at as a walking credit card unless she gets one of those that likes to steal disability benefits. I don't have a fetish, but I like a lot of the disabled women I see in the internet. They're more attractive because they seem to develop character better than the -hot- ones. The problem is that watching videos is just like tv, and you can't trust appearances of strength. You have to see it in person.

i mean no hate but hiding something and suddenly revealing it expecting the other person to accept it is. like its a gamble what do you expect
you can just at least make it be known in some way or form so you know the people who approach you or get to know you are accepting of that
tho its easy for me to say but i can imagine you few years ago being afraid to even mention that to someone you talked for a bit let alone the whole world of strangers, which you have done now so that means you are finally over your fears so good for you hence back to my first point

According to the BC government scoliosis isn't a disability. you get 12 visit a year to see a chiropractor; Wich isn't enough. I see a private chiropractor and it cost me 189 a month 289 at the beginning out of my pocket. Iv known people that are in wheelchairs that can't even get government help for it. .
Even New Zealand recognizes that scoliosis is a disability!
( They don't let people move to there country if they have it -)
Scoliosis has many different levels so the government of BC dosn't recognize it as a disability.

You are so beautiful! Are you in constant pain? Like others here, I have mild scoliosis -with a twist-, and it definitely causes discomfort. You are a talented photographer. I could see you as a professional photographer with a specialty in highlighting others who live with disability. I'm shocked that you were bullied as a child. That is just horrible. What is the matter with parents that they aren't raising children to be compassionate, helpful and loving! Thank you for sharing your story. XO

She's freaking gorgeous hands down and she dresses marvelous. Kids can be just cruel and what's sad is you'd think they'd grow out of it once their adult's. But as I got older I noticed that the kids who were cruel in elementary, high school are even cruel as adults and some of the kids that were nice in elementary and high school ended up nice in adulthood but some end up cruel. So conclusion some human's just SUCK.

Don't concentrate on apps. The commentating people are absolute nobody's online and trolls. Myself, I also have a messed up back and shoulder blade that sticks out. It gives me upper back pain. Honestly, It's not about trying for acceptance or a certain unique beauty. It's about being yourself and dealing with the long term back pain toward your golden age.

My Mom, sister and grandma all had the same condition. Many of my family members have the same thing. The one who had hers fixed was in a lot of pain. Years later her spine went crooked anyways. I hope you don't let it hold you back. You're only different if you feel that way. Confidence is what people are really attracted to.

I know this sounds weird but I like how she recognizes that she's a human that just happens to be disabled. she's not being supported buy a government community that only wish to financially profit of off the label of disabled but is pointing out that she's a person with a personality of Independence.

I have learned through these videos there are so many beautiful woman/ men. It's sad that we as a people are soooooo quick to look on the outside before ever learning to read the 1st chapter of a life changing book thats right before our eyes.

I would love to know how severe her pain is. it's not easy to be confident when you have a disability and I would imagine it is even less easy to be confident when you are in constant pain! She is strong and beautiful in my prayers are with her

I was not even half way through when I wanted to say too bad she can't date women, we're much more excepting than men. And then she goes on to say she's dating women - good for her

Why the hell would you bully someone about using a wheelchair or having a disability? Kids are cruel but adults need to get a life. Those are terrible things to attack someone for.
reply

I-m very curious how someone survives with a collapsed spine and how it could be reinforced so she could avoid the wheelchair, but I am concerned about function, not appearance.
reply

I think sometimes people are afraid of loving people with health conditions because of what could happen to them in time some people are cruel some are just scared
reply

I have the same thing you have but yours is worser sweetie and I know that we can't stand up long or sit too long it doesn't matter it's going to hurt
reply

Why on Earth would her parents let it get so bad? Why was there no therapy or surgical intervention before her spine collapsed? That's awful.
reply

I think she's absolutely beautiful I am happy that she's finally got self confidence. I think she's stunning and I know she will find someone!
