Kaylee, from Ohio, has progeria, an accelerated ageing disease which means that at age 18 she stands at 3ft 8in tall and weighs only 35lbs. The ultra-rare nature of progeria, which has an average life expectancy of around 13, means that people online often mistake her for other people with the condition who have since passed away - but Kaylee is very much still here and living a full life. Having taken part in drug trials to help slow the ageing process, Kaylee is finishing high school this year and applying to college, and has had hip surgery which means she's more mobile. In this episode Kaylee shows off her incredible artwork and introduces us to two of her best friends

I'm living with BPD and major depression. There are some days that I literally can't get out of bed because I'm so depressed. I thought about suicide to end my pain, but when I saw this video, and others like it, I decided to keep fighting and get the help I needed. If she could live her life and be happy, then I can too.

Serious question. If you were one of her close family members. Would living w someone who has this sort of disability.
Do they have a higher chance of having suicidal thoughts compared to normal people?

reply

Something i don't understand is why these people witch diseases, disabilities, etc, say that -I'm normal-, when technically, they are not. It's just the truth. But we are sugarcoating things now.

I'm happy to see her thriving despite her condition. Most kids diagnosed with progeria didn't make it past the puberty stage and Kaylee's 18. I wish her a long and happy life.

Sorry but I think it-s so funny people are always thinking she-s dead, she just shrugs off the bombardment of comments -. Also not them arguing with her -
