Tim's back in his pronunciation workshop. This time he's finding out about how the sound /t/ can change when it comes before a word starting with the sound /j/ - and hearing about what some Londoners say when they meet someone new

Hello and thank you for this series, these videos really are very helpful! :) I was wondering if you could help me with something. I keep hearing British people use bought and brought interchangeably (mostly in informal conversation, though) and it's a bit confusing. Is it a pronunciation thing, maybe there's a shady r sound in brought after all that I just can't make out? Or is it a feature of colloquial English? Thanks! :)
