The hares are really very smart. Here in the states Ive had Jackrabbits (Hares) take both my hawk and my whippet straight into barbed wire fences. The hare will run the length weaving back and forth. My hawk ended up hanging from a barb by her wing. She was very lucky not to break her wing or her neck. My whippet had a massive skin tear. Others played the exact same tricks as the hare in this video on my hawk. It was really funny when the hares would do the stop or last second dodge. Often times the hawk would end up on the ground glaring at a seemingly smug hair only six feet away.

I've seen a hare put off a pack of wolves, wild dogs are no match for it but who would have told me that on a good day, it can put an eagle to shame? Well now I know.

This is just like the Tortoise and the Hare, the Hare thought he'd win because the Tortoise was slow by nature, but it actually won!
