It makes me a little sad that something as awesome and scary looking as the great white can be easily taken down by a killer whale that can look like it's being playful while killing this top predator.

That shows why it's so dangerous to swim on the surface in the open sea. Better to dive at the same height as the shark and turn your head always to the predator. The risk of an attack is therefore low.
