In the last 100 years, no primate species has gone extinct, but right now we are at risk of losing up to 60% of primate species. There are people who dedicate their lives to save our closest cousins

Educational tourism is a double edged sword, it can teach people to appreciate the world and it's species, however it can also slowly degrade those same habitats and ecosystems, when the numbers of people become overwhelming. Even the locals might damage their own surroundings in order to provide for the tourists. I prefer learning vicariously, over the internet, it's nearly the same, but with drastically lower environmental and social footprint.

It's sad that we have to ensure the survival of primates after millions of years of them taking care of themselves. It's a testament to the destructive impact of humanity at the expense of all other life.

Lol we kill our own people with weapons that we make and u want the same people protect the animals so called cousins first save yourslef then think about saving other humans are just selfish

The only truth
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Bravo to saving animals from extinction. Let's not allow the English to be erased by neverending non-white immigration either. We're being outnumbered in our own land.

I need to find a gibbon for the show. My soul hurts with not be able to go observe them in the wild. Ive never seen a wild primate and its killing me!

ok so how can we start protecting the rainforest? What can each and every one of us do in their daily lifes to save these beautiful creatures?
reply

Why don't they just evolve? Guess they were left behind to go extinct, after all that is how evolution works, or at least natural selection.

Wonder if we could train them to make iPhones or fight in the jungles for us like how the navy uses dolphins and everyone uses dogs for a lot
reply

Deforestation, developed beaches, and building on top of marshlands have been causing a lot of harm to populations of wildlife.
