When it comes to animal reproduction, there’s no one-size-fits-all strategy. Some animals need a mate, others don’t, and for some, it depends! In this episode, we’ll learn about sexual and asexual reproduction, internal and external fertilization, and all the ways that life, uh finds a way. Introduction: Reproduction 00: 00 Asexual reproduction 01: 33 Sexual Reproduction 04: 48 Fertilization 05: 58 Sexes 08: 01 Review & Credits 11: 11 This series was produced in collaboration with HHMI BioInteractive, committed to empowering educators and inspiring students with engaging, accessible, and quality classroom resources. This is all very interesting and theoretical but you have to account for (1) what drives animals to reproduce. The basic answer is instinct which has never been explained. (2) do animals know what they are producing a next generation. When an elephant mates with a female, does he know that 1 year later the female will give birth to it's progeny It could be many miles away. That's the great part of biology; you don't have to explain anything logically. You just observe it. And by the way, how did all this evolve. on it's own

Dear crash course for the past several months I've been having very short fainting episodes no longer than 7 seconds. So I was wondering if y'all could possibly make A video on that, possible causes etc. Everything I've heard does not add up to mine and this is really restricting me from doing what I love. I'm 16 and really enjoy your videos thank y'all.
Sincerely

I saw the thumbnail and thought to myself if this video will not get me fired it is my duty as a Nerdfighter since i was 16 to show my 16 year olds in science about to do evolution. Don't forget to be awesome! They won't get the joke but i sure will.

Fascinating video. Fun to watch and very educational. Thank you Dr. Sammy, you are doing a fabulous job. One thing though, why every time we talk about reproduction in biology, we have to put in some words about gender fluidity.

I feel sorry for newborn giraffes. They get dropped from that great height onto the ground and then amniotic fluid and the placenta gets dropped right onto them. Nice.

Long time nerdfighters know the choice of giraffes and turtles at the start is not a coincidence. Love to see that some things never change. Don't forget to be awesome.
