You sounded positively horrified at the prospect of a Venetian Empire, but then went on to describe with admiration the Ottoman Empire and it's slave aristocratical system over Venice's protodemocracy.
I can kinda understand why, but history always seems to be taught with an anti-european perspective these days. You describe the 7th century Jihads and such as important events that shaped cultures and brought about great progress but describe the crusades as dumb xenophobic wars which Europe shouldn't have parktaken in.

Only the first batch of the Jannissaris were Christians babies. After that one generation the Ottomans started using their own Muslim Children to create Jannussaris. That-s why they were allowed to have babies. No one trusted the convert Christians to have babies and family. But Muslims were allowed to have babies.

The third mosque that is shown as an example of Ottoman architecture is Selimiye Mosque in Edirne, my hometown. Greetings from Turkey!
PS: One thing I need to correct in the video is that Suleyman laid siege to Vienna in 1529, not in 1526.

name istanbul came to be after the turkish revoulution. When ottomans captured it in 15c they renamed it Kostantiniyye which is basically the turkish way of pronouncing constantinople.
