So we all know that breathing is pretty important, right? Today we're going to talk about how it works, starting with the nameless evolutionary ancestor that we inherited this from, and continuing to the mechanics of both simple diffusion and bulk flow, as well as the physiology of breathing, and finishing with the anatomy of both the conducting zone and the respiratory zone of your respiratory system. Pssst. we made flashcards to help you review the content in this episode! Find them on the free Crash Course App!

Why did lungs come to existence? I know evolution is a thing but what was the benefit to being the first animal to ever be able to breathe on land? And how would something that big of a change even happen? So confusing.

0: 15 it doesn't have a name huh? lets call it Hank, after the great lecturer that saved countless college students from failing their exams. (if you dont like Hank, you can give it ur own name)

evolution is a theory not fact. it takes more faith to believe that people evolved from fish than to believe we have an intelligent designer, God

While I can see that species evolve to become better. THERE IS ALWAYS evidence and proof of the changes taking place, usually due to natural selecrion.

We don't know what did it look like or the name of it but we when what year it existed lol I'm allergic to theories that has no evidence zZZZzZzzz

Praise the Lord whose creation is out of reach of human.
Thank you.
Wanna become Pulmonologist, was searching study material.

Evolution is a theory-not a scientific fact. Everything else we know about the respiratory system is factual and evidence based.

always so helpful. but this one was hard to watch. why all the evolution stuff? What if you're wrong Hank? If I'm wrong no loss.
